Adriana Claymore moved to Martinique to start a new life, but when she stumbles upon an ancient book, she finds herself drawn into a centuries old battle between brothers. ”Sorcier” Julien Dubois has been on the hunt for his twin, Jacques, ever since the day that Jacques stole a book of spells from him and allowed their younger brother to die. Adriana is about to change the game, but when she gives her heart and soul to one of the brothers, she must face a difficult question. Did she lose herself to evil? Wicked Sinners is the second installment in Charity Parkerson’s Sinners Series.
Charity Parkerson is an award winning and multi-published author with several companies. Born with no filter from her brain to her mouth, she decided to take this odd quirk and insert it in her characters.

Really loved The Society of Sinnersand this is second in the series. I loved the characters and the story line was different from what I've read before. Not to mention some fabulous lovin'.
We start off with Adriana who has moved to Martinique to flee her boring life and back stabbing bitch of a sister. She is attempting to hang sheetrock when Jacques drops off some supplies and offers to help her. When she leaves the room he hides an ancient book with loose sheets in it in one of her travel bags.
In comes Jacques twin brother, Julien. Who has been hunting for his brother and the sheets of paper in the book. He sees Adriana, at a bar she frequents and she mistakenly takes him for Jacques. She walks over to say hello and they are both drawn to each other due to being soul mates.
Julien has been hunting Jacques because he believes him to be responsible for their brother Alain's death, by taking the sheets he needed to give his brother eternal life. And that's all I'm giving you. This is a fabulous story and can't wait to read more of the Society of Sinners Series.
I was first drawn to “Wicked Sinners” because of the cover art. I was blown away with the two different color eyes on the cover. So many different conclusions ran ramped through my mind. With “Wicked Sinners” on my “to-be-read” list, I jumped at the opportunity to review it. And I was not disappointed.
Charity Parkerson did such an excellent job weaving this story from beginning to end I had no idea it was part of a series; much less the second book in the series. Not knowing how this novel ties into the first, devastatingly handsome twin brother’s Jacques and Julian who are both immortal and Druids are determined to destroy each other.
Adriana who has fled to Martinique to escape her truly bitch of a sister where she comically meets Jacques Dubois while trying to hang dry wall. Later she meets up with “Julian” thinking him to be Jacques in a local night club and fall in love with him. Little does she know she has been thrust into an unforgiving war between two powerful Druids that could kill her?
I was submerged into this story from the very beginning. Not only is t book well written, the mixture of humor, action, mystery and romance held me and never let go. I can’t wait to read more from Charity Parkerson and plan on reading “The Society of Sinners” the first installment to The Sinners Series and am hopeful that Charity Parkerson will continue the series digging deeper into Jacques relationship with the Oracle.
I received this book as a part of the R2R program.
Opps, is my first thought on this one. Apparently this is book two and I had not read book one. But that didn’t seem to matter much. While reading I didn’t feel like I was missing something. Things certainly weren’t ever boring in this book. A whole lot did happen in this book. Which is why my feelings are very undecided. A lot of times once the world building is done, the second book can take off with lightning speed. So was my overwhelmed feeling only because I didn’t read the first book. Well, I guess I have to read the first book to be sure.
The main character I guess is Adriana. At least that is where this story begins. And I will say, Adriana isn’t shy about who she is which is refreshing. The guys, well they are Jacques, Julien, and Alain. Two are twins. There are all very different but at the same time all very much alike. And unfrotunetly, that is the only way I can describe it without giving to much away.
I so have to say this.
But even with that, I found the story very intriguing. There was a lot of good there. I don’t want to judge, because I didn’t read the first book and maybe I would have a different feeling. So on it’s own I would give this 3.5 stars. But absent information from the first book, I will round up in favor of the author.
I can’t give a recommendation, and not because the story is not good. But simply because I haven’t read the first book where of course the normal person should start. But I would say for those that have read the first book and our interested in continuing the series, then yes, you should read.
If I had to pick one, my book boyfriend would be Julien. But once you read the story you will understand how impossible it is to really pick one of them.
I got a copy of this one R2R so thanks to both R2R and the author for providing a copy for me to read. I signed up for this before finishing or review the first novel in the Sinners series. I didn't really enjoy the first book in the series so I was cringing when I started Wicked Sinners hoping it wasn't like the first...it's not!
The format of Society of Sinners was 6 stories about different paranormal couples and it just didn't work for me, stories too short too many characters so you don't really get invested in any of them. Wicked Sinners focuses on one couple and you get their whole story and it was a much much better read.
Adriana leaves her small town in the Southern US, and buys a house in Martinique where she meets twins, Jacques and Julien. She becomes involved with Julien,a sorcerer who has been hunting his twin for thousands of years over stolen pages in a book that allowed their younger brother to die.
There are lots of twists and surprises in this book keeping things interesting and the plot moving along at a good pace. There is a love triangle and without giving away spoilers the author resolves it in a very creative way.
The characters from the first book do make an appearance but it is very minor and does not in any way take the focus away from the main story. That made this so much easier to read and to like this book. I have to say this book made me a convert and I will try the next one in the series.
I really loved this book! It was a great read and I wasnt able to put it down once I picked it up. The main character is Adriana who moves to Martinique to get away from a life that has caused her nothing but grief. She finds Julien and they fall in love. Julien is searching for his twin and for the book that he stole from him. This book has lots of suprise twists and ends up resolving everything very nicely. One thing I love about it is that the female character that is pulled into a mystical world finds out she is a part of it, and is able to take care of herself. Even though the solution to the love triangle was a little odd, it actually was pretty cool and unique compared to other books. All in all it really is an interesting read and one you should pick up:)
I actually read this book not knowing it was the second one in the series, but I didn't feel lost at all. I love the author's creation of a paranormal community where all can live in peace under the watchful eye of a powerful entity whose punishment is swift for those who break the rules. Loved the characters, the action, the romance (very sexy), and the twists. I look forward to reading the rest of the Sinners series as well as other books from this author.
An awesome read that truly does capture the imagination in many ways! This story is one to be read, and I do recommend it. Well done Charity Parkerson :)
Excellent read! Cant really describe exactly why I enjoyed this book so much, but I did, and it was lovely. Apparently there is a prequel out there (I only read the summary for each novella within the prequel) but I don't feel like I've missed anything by diving head on into this one. Hell, if anything, I may have tried to add an nonexistent star somewhere.
This book is hard to summarize without giving away some spoilers - there's a lot going on with more than a couple twists and turns. But, I'll try. There's a woman named Adriana who moves to France after gaining an inheritance to start her life over. Through the luck of the draw, she's thrown head first into a predicament between two sexy twin brothers. And oh, did I mention there's magic involved?
I enjoyed the different points of view in the story. The author would switch things up in the middle of the scene so there would be no questions about the feelings or intentions of the characters involved. Also, I loved the use of quotes to start off each chapter and the overall beauty of the writing in general. I felt the emotions being displayed before me.
The ending posses me off, however. It was just...done. That easy, huh? Don't authors know by now that most readers can't stand for something so great to end so suddenly? Why the build up for no climax? The epilogue was sweet, though, and I'm pretty sure it saved the narrative from a four star rating.
Overall a good adult romance story. Everything isn't fairies and strawberries but love conquers all in the end.
I was advised that this is the sequel to The Society Of Sinners, and even though it is marked as Book #2 in the Sinners Series, in no way is it dependant on the first book. Although it does touch on a few of the characters and events from The Society Of Sinners, 99% of the book has nothing to do with anything that happened in the first book.
I really enjoy Ms. Parkerson's writing style. It has an easy flow to it that makes reading fun and enjoyable. What I really liked about this book was that it had enough plot twists without making everything confusing, and the mystical element behind this book is very different from the first.
We first meet Adriana, who has escaped her home (as well as her evil, slutty sister) in Alabama for the beautiful seaside town of Martinique. It is here that she meets two brothers and her world is instantly turned upside-down. Julien and Jacques Dubois are immortal Druids. Julien has been hunting Jacques for centuries after he stole a very important book from him, resulting in the death of his successor. Throw in a few vampires, a long-believed-dead third brother and a bit of magic, and wham, just when you thought you knew what was happening, everything changes.
Without giving too much away, there is a definite love triangle but with a twist, and I was very excited to see just how it would all turn out.
This book is filled with intense love, heartbreaking sorrow and even a little humor. Thank you to read2review and Charity Parkerson for giving me the opportunity to read Wicked Sinners.
Another exciting novel from Charity Parkerson, “Wicked Sinners” is the second entry in her “Sinners” series. A bit different from “The Society of Sinners,” it’s equally fascinating and equally lovable. In fact, I find myself compelled to read all Ms. Parkerson’s books-no disappointments here!
Adriana has fled Southern Alabama after her sister captures the man Adriana might have loved. She researches, then buys a beachfront home on Martinique, determined to renovate it herself. When the home improvement store delivers her purchases, she meets a sexy man who calls himself Jacques, who offers to twin Julien, on the hunt for Jacques from his own home in France. Adriana can’t understand why at the first meeting she merely admired Jacques aesthetically, but now at their second encounter she’s getting all hot and bothered. This new “Jacques” (actually Julien) is developing an interest-too much so-in Adriana too-and what she doesn’t know is that both (to her it’s one and the same) have their own hidden, and dangerous agendas. She might have left a heartache behind at home in Alabama, but she’s about to step into a situation a whole lot more fraught with danger, here on Martinique, her beloved new home.
I’m convinced Charity Parkerson cannot write a bad novel, so I’m going to keep a firm eye on her website, on Goodreads, and in her GR group, so I never miss one of her novels. Please keep writing forever, Ms. Parkerson!
I so enjoyed this book. The way the author combines mortals and immortals together makes for a page turner you just don't want to put down. It' draws you in with every page you turn, you think you know what's next, think again. At one point I thought for sure I knew the way things were going to turn out. This book is a must read if you enjoy a little magic, sexiness, vampires and one amazing woman and her experience with the most intriguing sexy men. Charity blows your mind away with WICKED SINNERS. I would read and will read more from this AMAZING author. You can find her books on Amazon.com and Smashwords and other fine book retailers.
Wicked Sinners is a wicked must read! I do believe this is the best book by Charity Parkerson to date. I can't wait for her next book. She knows how to create characters you fall in love with. I love the fact that with her books you never know what is going to happen next. In most romances you know that two characters are going to end up together, but not so with Charity Parkerson's books. You have to keep reading to find out what happens next because you're never going to figure it out by yourself.
I really enjoyed this book a lot more than the first in this series (The Society of Sinners). The story was extremely engrossing and even though this didn't really tie into the first book until over half way through I found it to be a great stand-alone book. I thought the 'showdown' at the end of the book was kind of a let down in an action-y sense, but the teaser at the end had me wanting to read more.
What does one do when they are in love with two men? (skip the menage thought, please!) Two very similar similar brothers, but you can "see" the differences. Full of wit and wisdom, choice are made. There is something very magical in lasso-ing two men men's hearts for eternity...
First of all I gave 3.5 /5 for Wicked Sinners. Then, after thinking about the whole book itself I was torn between 3.5 or 4. I think that will depend on the reader.
The things I really like about this book: I really enjoy the story. Entertaining, filled with suspense and sexy guy, I was hooked after a few pages. The plot is very exciting in a way that I like but in the same time was different from what I used to read.
The characters were enthralling: my favourite was Julien! I would wish have more of him in this book! Those moments past with him seems to go so fast and all of this are over in an instant. I also enjoy the female character: Adrianna. She's a strong woman with a trouble past but she keeps looking forward and that's what I like the most about her.
I adore the intensity between the characters and the entire male thing: possession, love, strong feelings between people who just meet. This gives a lot to the book and didn't help me to give the right rating for this story. All the details, description of the characters or of the scene even the sex scene is really helped the reader to take a good place inside the story.
I really like the writing style of the author: Charity Parkerson. Her style reminded me of Christine Feehan and The Carpathians Series. The way it's written, really reminded me of the first book of the series. This is a plus for me because I think this style is kind of unique and aren't good to every books or authors. I think Charity Parkeron's handle well this kind of writing.
I love the magic, legends and myths and the quotes from the Book of the Unknown.
Secondly, the things I didn't like about this book and why I wasn't being able to give a 5/5 was: The confusion I had when it was time to recognize the brothers. I was always confused in the first chapters between Julien and Jacques. It was really difficult to make the difference and that's what really bothers me. I don't know if it's me (anyway).
The first chapters were hard to follow sometimes between Julien and Jacques: they quest, hunt and running away from each other and when Adrianna is stuck in the middle of this, everything seems to go in and out with Julien and Jacques. Once with Julien, then with Jacques...
Adrianna's family behaviour is really something that upset me for personal reason I guess. I don't think my own sister would do such a thing so I had a hard time with that part of the book, but then again its personal kind of point of view! With all the power and good will I can't believe this family feud couldn't be solved!
I wanted more vampire’s things. Where is the blood sucking?
The rush ending really give me the impression that the author didn't have the time or have too much informations and actions to put in the book and not enough page left. This is how I felt it. Wow, like in the last 10 pages, everything happen so fast with the arrival of new characters and a running out situation and everything is solved just like this!
There is a few French mistakes... as a French Canadian those little mistakes bother me because you can't translate French to English or English to French. But I can understand the author and cannot blame her because I know I did some mistakes when I'm writing in English!
BUT I have to recommend this book: The male characters were surrounded by darkness and an urge to gain power just like I love! After a few chapters the reading is easier and the story flow.
I purchased and read this book not having seen any reviews on it. Now, in looking at the reviews here, I am somewhat surprised at the consistent high ratings. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I didnt think the book was decent, but 5 stars? Wow.
There are a few mild spoilers ahead so be duly warned:
The story had a good concept and enough "story" behind that concept to make a good, compelling read. I enjoyed the setting and the lead characters were likeable. The basic unfolding of the plot was enough to keep me reading to see what would develop next.
I realize it's not literature, so Im some slack. Instead Im comparing it to the many, many books Ive read in this genre so that it's more of an apple-to-apple comparison, I hope. The writing itself isnt bad - it's just that the book reads more like a draft than a completed work. There are holes. Major story transitions happen almost mid-paragraph, which throws you out of rhythm as a reader. Several times, I had to look back a few paragraphs to understand what just happened. For example, the lead male (Julian) is introduced as an extremely powerful magic-user who has lived for 100's of years and has been on a quest to find and kill his brother, who has stolen something of vital importance to him. In fact, you shortly learn that he is pretty much the most powerful magic-user in the world. Despite this supposed single-minded purpose which has dominated his life for 100's of years, within virtually one paragraph he is completely in love with the lead female, Adriana, who is a ordinary human female, and wants to permanently mate with her, after which he seems to want her to validate everything he does. I know romance novels move quickly, but some sort of build-up would have been nice. Then, later in the book, Julian - who, let me remind you again has been built up as the most powerful "sorcier" in the world, is killed by a vampire who basically goes into stealth mode, sneaks up and cuts him many times with a poisoned dart or something and he bleeds to death. Uh, okay. There is no fight, no climactic build up to Adriana losing her soul mate - Julian is there and then dead within two paragraphs or so. I guess my definition of "most powerful sorcier in the world" is vastly different. Okay so he isnt 100% "dead" as his soul has passed into another, super handsome and sexy guy, who subsequently wins and beds Adriana. But again, the story doesnt exploit the interesting concept that she is attracted to the new guy (Alain) while missing Julian. She is able to sense Julian's essence in Alain and there is a visual cue of Julian in that Alain's green eyes change color to Julian's brown ones. Okay, I guess. This is where I felt this story was weakest - the premise was interesting but the big turning points in the story aren't exploited like they should be, so the reader never experiences any highs or lows. It's just mildly interesting. Add to that the fact that the sex scenes are just "ok", and it makes me, as a reader, feel less than satisfied with the experience as a whole.
I will end this by saying that she sold herself short on this book by not developing the depth or continuity in the story that she could have, and that would have created a compelling, sticks-in-your-mind kind of read. Of course, it's also entirely possible that Im expecting too much.
This was a very different read from the first in the Society of Sinners series and quite a surprise in the end. I was not sure how I was going to comment on it because right up to the last quarter of the book, I wasn't sure that she was writing a sequel to the first Society book at all. The book was good, I was really interested in Adriana Claymore and the Druid, Julian Dubois and the whole triangle with his twin brother Jacques and Alain Moreau. But I really could not see where it was going in reference to the series itself.
Adriana buys a house in Martinique to get away from an abusive sister in Alabama. A delivery guy named Jacques Dubois helps her hang the drywall he delivers. Then she meets his twin, Julian, but he plays like he's Jacques so he can try to find Jacques because he's hunting his brother to kill him. It gets very complicated with Adriana finding an old diary that says that the twins are very old, the diary is dated to 610 BC. And she begins to find herself falling in love with Julien.
So much more happens but to tell you would mean I would have to spill all the good points of the book and I recommend picking up the book. It is good, with lots of twists and turns and surprises that make this one actually better than the first one.
My only criticism of this book is that Ms. Parkerson chose to go exclusively with Amazon's Kindle. That makes it hard to impossible for some readers to get to read the book. I am a Nook reader and the way I ended up reading it was on my laptop. This tied me to my house and couch. I love to read in bed or when I'm waiting at the doctor's or waiting to pick up a grandchild or my husband and I cannot do that with the laptop. Some readers will not even have this option and it will limit the readers she gets for her books, which is sad because it is a book that deserves to have a wide audience. This is why I didn't give her a 5 star on the book.
Adriana escapes to Martinique to start her life anew. While there she meets jacques, Julien and Alain. This is a beautiful story and brought me to tears.
Charity Parkerson creates a world that is unique and familiar at the same time. I found myself rooting for the characters and hoping things worked out for everyone.
When I first started reading this book I couldn't figure out how it was related to the first book. I'm used to authors tying things together from the very beginning. Charity didn't do that. It's halfway through the book before the tie is found between this book and the first book. Even though it takes so long to make the tie, it's amazingly done. In the beginning I found myself wondering how the two books tie together. About 1/4 of the way through the book, it didn't matter anymore! I was completely engrossed in the story and couldn't put it down. I read this book in one sitting in a matter of hours.
I'll definitely be reading more of Charity Parkerson's books!
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I would like to preface by saying, maybe if I had read the first book in this series, I would have a better understanding before reading this one. Wicked Sinners has a unique story line, interesting characters, sexy Druid priest types. However, I found it generally lacking depth and left me wanting to know more about these Druids and their motivations. I am definitely planning on reading the first book to see if it helps in that area. It also seemed that the story moved so fast that elements may have been missed and I longed for more descriptive passages of the landscape and even characters, but maybe that is a result of reading so many series lately which continue on and on and on.
The real reason for only giving 3 stars is the complete lack of editing of this book. The misspellings, grammatical errors and choppy lack of flow of much of the dialogue really annoyed me and made me want to finish the book as quickly as possible. I am not a writer, but I do appreciate one who pulls me into a world that is not my own. The difficulty I had reading Wicked Sinners prevented that total immersion.
Charity Parkerson has done it again! “Wicked Sinners” is smashing follow-up to its predecessor, “The Society of Sinners.” With new characters, new challenges, and new magic, I was immediately captivated as I was pulled into the mystifying world that the author has so flawlessly created.
What I found most appealing was how this time the story was centered mostly around a single family of characters and the hardships that only a real family can put one another through. The emotional and physical aspects were off the chart as each person had to deal with hard decisions in concern to life, love, and long-term happiness.
And then the ultimate surprise. The return of some very familiar characters who had no choice but to bring their special talents to the scene, pushing the story to an amazing, yet necessarily climactic ending. Overall, I could not pull myself away from this book as the truth of their secret existence continued to unfold before my eyes. And dare I may say, there is still more to come.
Wicked Sinners by Charity Parkerson is a second book in the Sinners series. And it's a very nice standalone book. Since I haven't read the first book, I have no idea what it is about but this one was perfectly good without following the series from the very beginning.
I very much liked the whole soulmates idea and how druids could connect their souls to each other. My heart broke for all the heroes! And I'm really glad that Adriana experienced happiness with Julien and the triangle with Alain turned out to be very nice :) The side story of Jacques and his soulmate is very sweat as well.
There are books that aren't good when listened to, but this one was excellent. So I guess it is fast paced (since I didn't want to rewind my player all the time) and it has a nice story arcs and relate-able characters. The way Adriana changed throughout the book made it very interesting to follow the story. And quite a lot this book made me cry in a good way.
This audiobook was given to me by the author in return for an honest review.
WICKED SINNERS by Charity Parkerson is a globetrotting romance, with a big paranormal flavor, yet it also has heavy doses of action and intrigue. As the story opens, Parkerson’s heroine, Adriana is settling into her new home on Martinique, a tropical paradise, offering her the peace she craves and an escape from her past. Sparks fly when she meets the Dubois brothers, who are far more than they seem. The connections between these characters and the amazing residents of Jackson Station, featured in THE SOCIETY OF SINNERS, become clear as the story progresses, leading to an amazing conclusion. Loving WICKED SINNERS is effortless, allowing Parkerson’s readers to fall into an adventurous paranormal romance, as they reconnect with characters they adored in THE SOCIETY OF SINNERS. Parkerson again brings courage, hot romance, paranormal elements, and an occasional measure of humor to a great plot and characters to cheer for.
This novel is a thrilling saga of wizards, eternal love, and danger. When Adriana buys a “nice fixer upper” in Martinique, she isn’t prepared for the changes she faces—to her home and to her life. She meets immortal twin brothers, handsome wizards who are determined to destroy each other, and falls in love. She didn’t know that she stepped into a magical war between wizards and vampires. What she didn’t know could kill her.
Readers embark on a journey with Adriana as she unravels the past and learns how it affects her future. She discovers her own magic but will it be enough to keep her safe? I thoroughly enjoyed Wicked Sinners and recommend it to readers who seek an unusual tale told by a talented writer.
Claymore moves to Martinique after her sister steals her fiancé. Hoping to restart her life, she buys a fixer-upper house on the beach and while working on remodeling it, she finds an ancient book. At first, Adriana believes the book to be a work of fiction until the real men named in the book appear in her life. Brothers Julien and Jacques Dubios have been at war since Jacques stole a book of spells from Julien—who is a sorcerer—and by doing so, he allows their younger brother to die. Julien has sworn to have his revenge, and at first, he sees Adriana as a way to finally make Jacques pay. The trick of this book is figuring out which brother is evil and which is not. In a masterfully written turn of events, you’ll be shocked to find out how it ends.
Paranormal things were amazing. Druids, vampires, eternal life. Great plot for the story. I thought, omg, what a great story.
Love moments were very well described. The love story between Adriana and Julien was amazing.
I enjoyed the book until one very specific moment. After that... it was just not for me.
What I didn't like was the relationship sister-sister. I don't have a sister, but I'm sure I would never do that to my sister what Adriana's did to her. And the relationships between the three brothers were not as they should be. Maybe I would understand if they were just friends, but love triangle in the family, not my type of a story.
WOW! I feel like I just got off the best roller coaster ride! Wicked Sinners started off so smooth and I was content to just follow and see where this wonderful story was going....then it felt as though the ride shifted and dropped, leaving me free falling. It says a lot to me about a writer when they can take a turn that I wasn't expecting...one I wasn't even sure that I would like and still make me fall in love with the story. Again I stayed up late into the night needing to see what would happen next with Adriana and the hero.I loved the HEA and I adore Charity Pakerson's Society of Sinners series.
Adriana meets a man who overwhelms her and steals her heart, but he isn't who she thinks he is. With Druids, magic, werewolves, vampire, and even a Goddess thrown into the mix; how could you go wrong? I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves the paranormal. This book has a huge twist that will blow your mind
it was very short, there were a lot of grammar mistakes, it seemed like she was trying to get as many supernatural beings into the story as possible, the story jumped around a lot and almost as soon as it started they did the nasty...if i realized what it was about, i probably would not have signed up for this book...it seemed like she was trying too hard
This is one of the most engaging, modern fantasies I have ever read. It pulls you in with magic, yet satisfies on an adult intellectual level with the passion and sheer depth of its characters. This is how you write vampires, druids, even werewolves. Charity Parkerson has brought to life an incredible, original world that is like nothing you have seen before.
I did not read the first book in the Sinners series. Wicked Sinners is a well- written, stand-alone book and is in no way dependent on the first book. This is a story packed full of action, romance, steamy sex scenes, twists and turns. Charity Parkerson did an excellent job of weaving an interesting and unique story. I look forward to reading more from her.
