3.5/5⭐️ I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 chapters and the last 1/3 (the investing pillar) of this book. The offensive and defensive pillars were a bit elementary and really nothing new to me; I can’t really fault the author for that because I’m fairly researched on this topi. However, I’m always a little skeptical of people who claim to be “self made” or “harder workers” or “grinders” as the reason for being where they are but if you dive a little deeper seem to have been afforded quite a bit of privilege…and that privilege is not always disclosed which I don’t find the most forthright. NONETHELESS, I still enjoyed you just have to get over him tooting his own horn at least once a chapter
This is a great book. It is not necessarily about any type of real estate investing but more about the fundamental concepts of money and investing and how to build wealth. Would highly recommend
Although I heard much of this while listening to David weekly BiggerPockets podcast, I really enjoyed the breakdown of 3 pillars of wealth. Investing is just one of the pillars , and it’s not the only factor to wealth. Liked learning about defense, offense, and investing pillars. I recommend this to anyone looking to learn on how to get to realistic path to financial freedom with RE investing.
A very straightforward book for those with a novice to intermediate level of financial literacy. It is structured in three parts, each reflecting a pillar of wealth; Defense, Offense, and Investing. Broken down in a very digestible manner, I would consider this a recommended read for everyone with aspirations of financial freedom!
Incredibly elementary level concepts and somewhat condescending about it as well. Overly focused on real estate as an investment vehicle to the exclusion of a lot of other potential routes. If you have absolutely no background in managing your finances, maybe you can get something from it, I wasn't impressed though.
I had a really hard time getting through this, unfortunately a lot of the content went over my head. I did get some important takeaways about managing/saving/investing money that I plan to implement in my life asap!
First personal finance book I've picked up in a long time. Pretty basic education in financial literacy, but well rounded, not just talking dollars and cents, but how also how to improving your mindset with work and how to improve your skillset.
David Greene does a great job of setting the foundation for becoming wealthy. The only reason this doesn’t get a 5 star from me is that some of the topics were way too simplified and I would have appreciated a more advanced strategy discussion.
I just love everything that comes out of David’s mouth. He’s so wise , well worded and kind. Financially feeedom will take discipline and hard work. Let’s goo Need to read this book 2 more times
I love David Greene’s podcast on real estate investing, Bigger Pockets. This book was ok, a bit too elementary in some places and too advanced in other places. Podcast is so much better.
I like the book. The concept about defense, offense, and investing. Most chapters teach you about real estate, and how to do it the writer history is interesting, and how he struggle to achieve it.
