I love this book in a way no one could possibly understand. Maybe that’s because, full disclosure, I wrote it. But that said, I do genuinely love this book and think it’s a great way for anyone to get started in real estate. Look forward to hearing everyone else’s thoughts.

Good book. Covers a lot of the basics. I enjoyed Dave's other book, "Real Estate by the Numbers" more. But I would recommend this book for anyone who is interested in getting into real estate investing.

For me, the strength of the book is the ground up approach to real estate investing. I've read many of the BiggerPockets books, and a slew of others, but this is the first book I read that began from the point of "Okay, you want to invest in real estate? Here's how you start and a little bit about how you scale." Dave Meyer incorporates basic goal setting and offers a practical framework for strategizing your real estate journey.

It does retread a lot of the territory that other basic real estate books cover - finding and analyzing deals, partnerships, financing options, etc - but what I liked about this book was that it didn't try to really teach about all those things; it more gave you some overview and pointed you in the right direction.

Bonus: If you aren't listening to Dave Meyer's "On the Market" podcast, do yourself a favor and start. Thoughtful, timely, lively, well-produced; highly recommend.
