Offers a Birds Eye view (and that’s being generous) of Chinese history in the 20th century. Frankly 400 pages just isn’t enough space to cover as complex a topic as this. Reading it felt like the author was just telling me what happened and when instead of why things happened or why I should care. Just not a very engaging read, might be useful if the reader already has background knowledge of the topic but I can’t say I recommend this one.
