Lower the drawbridge! Would you like to know what life was like in a castle long ago? Then come spend the next twelve months in this castle. Check out eight action-packed scenes for a bird's-eye view of the life and work of lords, ladies, knights, maids, and more. See the castle on market day and during an attack by an enemy lord. Watch knights compete in a tournament. Keep your eye on the calendar too. By spending a whole year in a castle, you can watch events unfold as the seasons change.
This story book was ADORABLE. You're following along the events of a castle month-by-month with bright, vivid pictures. It's almost like find-it book, with a dozen different things going on in one picture. It made me smile finding all the clever, hidden scenes on each page. I honestly think this would have entertained me for hours as a child. A delightful little children's book!
Aaron's very favorite book, with lots of clever illustrations for him to study at length. It's like Where's Waldo for castles/knights but makes more sense - each part of the page is a little story to figure out rather than designed to confuse/hide someone. I love it, too, though some days I'm not thrilled to see it, *again*. ;)
This book was a lot of fun. It mixed Where’s Waldo with History. Very engaging and creative. Both of my kids loved it and I plan on buying more from the author.
Леон зазначив, що книжка занадто швидко закінчилася, хоча ми старанно розглядали картинки. Багато місяців випущених - і причини цього надзвичайно важко пояснити сину.
This was a cool book-- not only was it the story of a year in a castle, showing how various characters survived the seasons as well as typical medieval happenings (like a siege and a tournament) but there is also a search and find element with pictures to find on each page-- and characters found on every page so you can track them through the year. My favorite was the prisoner, who had some ups and downs of his own, like when several other prisoners joined him in the dungeon when the Lord began to suspect someone was stealing from him (and indeed, someone was!) You guys loved look for the thief, who was always up to no good, no matter the circumstances!
