Gathering Storm: Galactic Guardians #6 - a review by Rosemary Kenny.
Holy Stargate folks! Rowki Max Tyco, (aka Blood Wolf) and his crew of Guardians are on a new mission, attempting to reseal a major intergalactic portal, before an evil alien cult, the Children of Anak's army can invade and enslave mankind, as they have done in so many other worlds and other dimensions. New arrivals and former allies join the team to free a powerful AI and entrapped victims as Max puts his life on the line more than once, to bring an end to others' forced enslavement.
An eerily prescient denouement follows a shattering revelation and change of command, thanks to Max and co. Who's Lex? Can the good guys conquer an all-powerful AI?

The Rowki tried to stop the portals from being opened, but were unsuccessful. Now the Rowki are being hunted by the Galactic Government. Max and Rima have fled, their friends in the Ursonian troops have allowed them to escape and have a head start. However their honor demands that they follow orders, even if they feel that those orders are wrong. Max has used his ties to a Gnome Gangster to give them a place to hide, much to Rima's displeasure. Those on the other side, the Children of Anak, prove to be much more than the Ursonian troops can handle, Lazarus, the shadow government that runs the Galactic Government, may have bitten off more than it can chew. Will they let the worlds fall to the Children of Anak, or will they make peace between the Rowki and the Galactic Government?

The portal is open. Superior aliens in strength, size, technology, and resources have been let loose from captivity in a different dimension to invade. Out numbered and out teched, can the Rowki and the rest of the aliens on this side of the portal put aside their differences and face the insurmountable battles to come?
The portal is open, so there must be big battles, action, and, of course, sacrifices to be made. So the Blood Wolf rises again with a well written series of scenes, a few surprises giving some great reading.
This series of books is both interesting and relaxing. If you enjoy lots of action and intrigue as well as truly interesting characters you should give it a read.
