I was combing my school library's shelves and stumbled upon this biography. While I learned a few things about the author it, at this point, is pretty dated. This is definitely one of those books published for elementary school aged children that need to write a book report on their favorite author. Nothing wrong with that but it's not a book that is going to share lots of details about Handler's life either.
This book offers a look at Daniel Handler's life, and his inspiration for creating the nom de plume Lemony Snicket. The narrative is short and does not overwhelm the reader with too many details, but it is a bit dated.
There are a lot of photographs of the author and his fans, as well as a few scenes from the movie based on A Series of Unfortunate Events. It's a fast read and helps to show that Mr. Handler writes the kinds of books that he would have liked to read when he was a child. We enjoyed reading this book together.
