I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR RAFE’S BOOK AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!

Nana and M. Malone are back with their 3rd installment in the Broken Series … Broken Promise. Like the rest of the series, it’s a romantic suspense meant to keep you on the edge of your seat ,and it did just that.

Years ago, Diana’s father was murdered while she was at home. Flash forward and today she’s on a mission to seek revenge on his murderer.

Only issue?

What happens when the assassin is a heck of a lot more attractive than she ever imagined AND has more emotion than what meets the eye?

A lot.

A lot happens.

Let me tell you, this book packed a punch. If it weren’t for work, I would’ve been determined to finish it in a day or two. It had spice (such good spice 🥵), suspense, romance, and such good, brotherly banter. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Broken Series because of the mystery that follows each book and this one was no different. We got to find out all about Rafe, one of his pasts ops that has haunted him since, and finally met the girl who could add a little light back into his life!

I truly ate this one up and it left me wanting more and more! I have loved getting to know each of the members of Blake Security and cannot wait to see who we delve into next 🥵

Never Had A Doubt, In The Beginning...
The Broken Series is a suspenseful, action-packed, steamy series filled with strong p0ss£ssive alpha male characters. Each book has got me more excited for the next. I’m still impatiently waiting for Matthias’ story *cough* Team Matthias *cough*.

“Broken Promises” is Book 3 in the Broken Series. Readers will remember Rafe from earlier. He’s the formerly trained assassin that was supposedly dead but tortured. He’s Noah’s best friend and Lucia’s brother, who now works for the Black Security firm.

Rafe struggles to shed the person he once was. All the while, Diana was tracking Rafe due to her believing he k!ll£d her father. Diana wants to avenge his d£@†h and has a plan for him.

“Broken Promises” had appearances from past characters, which I always enjoy, a few humourous moments, and surprises. Diana’s character, however, didn’t connect with me ultimately. Lucia and JJ from Books 1 and 2 were well matched for their male counterparts, but Diana seemed to be the odd piece of the puzzle. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the story. But still *cough* Team Matthias *cough*.

I received a copy of this book for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wow. What a fantastic book. I couldn’t stop reading. Loved the suspense level of this book. Diana had witnessed her Dad’s murder and wants revenge. She’s been studying Rafe and her plan seems to be working. He’s let down so many of his suspicions about her and can’t help falling for her. But could she be falling for the enemy? I really felt their emotions. I felt gutted for her when she finds out why her Dad was killed. Can Rafe keep her safe? So much happens and I’m glad they finally got their happy ever after. I voluntarily read an advanced readers copy and I highly recommend this book.

This was a really good romantic suspense book! My only negative thing to say is for a guy who never lets anyone in and has crazy security surrounding him, he sure let Diana in verrrry quickly. The story was great though, and I liked seeing all the characters from past books. I’d recommend this read.

Rafe and Diana's story is a lush and twisty tale that is filled with decadent tension, fiery sparks, raw emotions, thrilling danger, exciting action, and steamy heat. Impossible to resist and completely captivating, once I picked this one up, I hated every time I had to put it down. I am electing to post a candid review.

Wonderful book!

Well what can I say that won't give the story away? Just know if you are picking this book to read you will not be disappointed. It's a love story with a difference, with a Assassin & one of his kills Daughter. Rafe & Diana are made for each other!

Yaaas, it's Rafe's story! He's been the most intriguing character in this series, as Lucia's beloved brother, and back when I originally read this whole series, he was the one I wanted to know about most. Rafe's character has stood the test of time, and I found myself still loving him with his protective tendencies, and his heart.



When he meets Diana, he's instantly interested, but she's hiding a huge secret that will rock him to his core when he finds out, especially once he's developed feelings for her. I won't spoil, but sufficed to say, their story is action packed, suspenseful, and of course super steamy. I still do not like Diana or think she's remotely good enough for Rafe, but their story is amazing, on brand for this awesome writing duo.

Malone, is the third book in The Broken Series, and this time it is the turn of Rafael "Rafe" DeMarco, he is Lucia's brother, also an ex-FBI agent, who is now part of Blake Security, his last mission left him with nightmares that haunt him to this day, and when he is called to collaborate on a mission, and although he wants to stay away from that part of his past, first not to bring him her sister is more dangerous and secondly because there are things from that mission that she omitted from the report, but she can't help but face that part of her past when Diana Vandergraff is focused on revenge and will look for him to make him pay for the death of her father, only when she puts her plan into motion, she will realize that her father and her family were not what she thought. Now Diana is torn between trying to keep Rafe safe and staying away from her crazy brothers and out of the clutches of her Uncle Boris. For his part, Rafe will do everything possible to protect Diana from her family and from herself. With the help of the rest of Blake Security, Diana and Rafe navigate the dangerous world of Diana's family while also dealing with the FBI.
This story, like all the series, is full of moments full of adrenaline, intrigue, action, also laughter, friendship, loyalty, passion, sensuality and a lot of love, apart from the fact that we enjoy all the characters again. This story has it all and I already want more of this duo of writers who have made me a fan of their stories, Completely Recommended!!!

4.25stars—BROKEN PROMISE is the third instalment in the contemporary, adult BROKEN erotic romance suspense series co-authored by M. Malone and Nana Malone. This is former assassin/former FBI agent turned security specialist Rafe DeMarco, and Diana Renquist-Vandergraff’s story line. BROKEN PROMISE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading book one BROKEN TRUST for back story.


Told from dual first person perspectives (Diana and Rafe) BROKEN PROMISE follows the building relationship between Rafe DeMarco and Diana Rehnquist, a relationship predicated upon a number of lies. Ten years earlier Diana lost everything, and blames Rafe DeMarco for it all. Having set a plan into motion to destroy our story line hero, Diana lies about who she is, in an effort to get up close and personal with Rafe DeMarco but Diana never expected to fall in love. As Diana and Rafe’s relationship becomes more serious, Diana begins to execute her plan only to come face to face with people intending to destroy them all. Get into BROKEN PROMISES – It’s awesome!

Oh wow, BROKEN PROMISES is the third book in Authors’ Nana Malone and M. Malone’s BROKEN SERIES and seriously I feel like each book just gets better! Each book can stand on it’s own merit, but why would you cheat yourself by not reading the preceding ones first?

I love this dynamic writing duo!! Twice the sass and wit, Malone Squared had my attention firmly in hand throughout the book with the high action and hilarious moments that are the trademark of their books. Add to that the hot as all hell moments between Rafe and Diana and you’ll be fanning yourself frantically all while trying to appreciate the twisted plot of the book.

I am so rapt that these authors teamed up again to rewrite and expand their original Brazen duet!!!!

How can we not love the morally grey characters who permanently take out the trash of society??? We know it’s not what polite company in any society wants so how do those in the highest levels of the FBI take out the extra slippery worst of the worst?? With a team that includes the deadly forces of Rafe DeMarco and his ilk. Only it turns out they’re just the usual self serving government department where the only way Rafe could protect his sister Lucia (BROKEN TRUST) was for him to fake his own death. Seeing him through Diana’s eyes, PHOAR!! Of course he’s all kinds of sexy confident swagger setting lady bits on fire 🔥🔥🔥. The enemies-to-lovers insta-attraction works for them and I loved every minute I was reading this book.

I’d already met the team from Blake Security in the first book, BROKEN TRUST and it was here I completely fell in love with all of them, even more so in BROKEN TIES. I love the feeling of family that this group of amazing people have made for themselves and I’m hoping that our talented authors are feeling rather obliging because there are more characters I want to be hearing from – Matthias anyone????? In the meantime, BROKEN TRUST deserves more than the limited 5-Measley-Stars that I can give it! 💜🤍✮

Firstly, I would like to thank Valentine PR and Nana & M. Malone for the opportunity to arc read this book, as well as the opportunity to read the first book in this series!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, Broken Trust, which followed the characters of Lucia and Noah, so reading a book following Lucia's brother was just the cherry on top <3. I did skip over book 2 of this series to read this arc review, but with the way that these authors tells a story, I will most definitely be going back to read it.

This story follows Rafe DeMarco after retirement from his undercover job working as an assassin for the FBI. He's finally ready to enjoy - or try to - his new civilian life when a damsel in distress is planted in his path. Diana Renquist - or should we say Vandergraff? She's got an old score to settle and won't rest until the man who she witnessed murder her father is put behind bars. But what happens when she starts falling for her target? And what happens when Rafe discovers that his sweet damsel isn't who she says she is?

This story definitely had me intrigued, but at times fell a bit flat. I didn't want to rate it the same as Broken Trust, so this book is sitting at around 3.5 stars for me. Don't get me wrong, it's a great story and the characters were easy to love and trust, but there were just some things that didn't sit right with me. Like how Rafe was all of a sudden so open to trusting a complete stranger after spending his entire life working as an operative who constantly looked over his shoulder. It also felt a tad repetitive at points, like whenever we thought that they would finally communicate, the MCs would distract each other with spicy times rather than talk. On that note, those spicy scenes were radiating with heat!

Overall this was a good story and I found myself unable to put my kindle down in the last half of the book! These authors are definitely onto something great <3 maybe Matthias' book next....(pls)

But, as the truth starts unraveling and Dianna’s past is brought to light, can they survive the storm coming to destroy them both?

The Broken series has been so emotionally intense and Broken Promises completely lives up to that expectation! Rafe seems so emotionally shut down, only giving glimpses of a man with a heart with his sister, young niece and grandmother. But, from the moment Dianna comes into his life, it’s like a spark is lit. And even though he knows there's more to her story and even when things start going sideways, he can’t let her go. And, Dianna . . . she is definitely a force to be reckoned with. As everything she thought she knew is swept out from under her feet, she continually rolls with the punches and does what she thinks is right and just . . .even if it means falling for the man she should hate. These two were combustible together!

The plot is a complex web of deceit and treachery at every level. It’s fast moving and will keep readers guessing at every twist and turn. The fantastic suspense elements along with this couple’s chemistry make Broken Promises a phenomenal read! 5 stars!

I have to admit that I struggled with rating this book. I had been waiting for Rafe's story, and I really like Rafe. Sad to say, there is not much I liked about Diana. In the previous books, the female lead was independent, smart, and sassy. They were likable characters. They often knew they were in over their heads, but more often than not, things were done for the greater good.

I guess it bothered me that Rafe was totally clueless. FBI, ORUS, trained assassin dude and he was completely unaware he was being followed and investigated. He never had ANY curiosity about what happened to that kid he saved? Rafe was so overcome by lust and his connection to Dianna that he forgot how to be a trained assassin and spy? The situation was a bit too farfetched for me.

Although I did not like Diana, the story was still good, especially toward the end. I did skim over some of the sex scenes, which I probably would have appreciated more if I liked Diana. There was just some part of me that didn't want her to be with Rafe. I definitely didn't want Emelie to get her hooks into him.

I would recommend this book. It was intriguing, exciting, had a good deal of action, and some mystery. There was romance, heat, and a number of seggy times. There were touches of humor from both Lucia and JJ.

I did appreciate the sense of family that was developed by the Blake Security team. It helped take the edge off of them being killers, lol. Also, Rafe and Diana did get their HEA.

Malone squared does it again!!!! Together they form a powerhouse that cannot be stopped. I love the guys and gals of Blake Security. Now, we get to get a glimpse of Rafe. Rafe is currently trying to navigate the world as a private citizen with the FBI and URUS nipping at his heels. Rafe has always been about helping/protecting people and he is no different when he runs into Diana. Diana is playing the damsel in distress to get some information about one of Rafe’s deadly jobs that involved her family. Diana also makes sure that Rafe doesn’t know who she really is. Diana did not count on Rafe being her protector and possibly a wonderful lover. Will she be able to get the information she needs to bring Rafe down for the murder of her father?

The sex scenes are definitely on par with the other books in this series. Steamy and hot!! I loved this story and I know others readers will as well. This was reminiscent of the other books in the Broken series. Each book’s ending was wrapped with a bow.


Readers are able to get even more entangled into to Rafe and Diana’s relationship. Both trying to protect each other. One doing it by running away the other by following.

I don’t understand how Minx and Nana do it but the come together so perfectly and combine the best parts of their story telling. And boy is it sexy. The Blake Security boys have me craving for more. I need more. I want to know all of them.

Prefect blend of thriller and sexiness. Sums Rafe up perfectly.

Broken Promises, the third book in the Broken Series, reunites us with Rafe, a once-trained assassin believed to be dead but now working for the Black Security firm. As Noah's best friend and Lucia's brother, Rafe struggles to leave behind his dark past and embrace a new life. On the other side, Diana enters the picture, tracking Rafe with the belief that he is responsible for her father's death. Driven by a desire for vengeance, she has a plan for him that could change everything.

Throughout the book, we encounter appearances from familiar characters, a delightful touch that adds depth to the story. Alongside the occasional humorous moments and surprising twists, Rafe's journey to redemption is enthralling.

However, some readers might find it difficult to connect with Diana's character like I did. While Lucia and JJ from the previous books were well-matched with their male counterparts, Diana seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle. Nevertheless, the story remains enjoyable and engaging.

In conclusion, Broken Promises offers an exciting continuation of the Broken Series, exploring Rafe's struggle to escape his past and the unexpected consequences of Diana's pursuit of revenge. Although Diana's character might not resonate with everyone, the story is still a worthy addition to the series. Nana Malone and M. Malone keep readers entertained with her trademark mix of humour, surprises, and appearances from beloved past characters.

∆ The third book in the Broken series by Nana Malone and M. Malone, 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 is a dark,sexy, enemies-to-lovers romance which has kept me wanting for more since the time I started this book.

∆ We met Rafe in the first and the second book as Noah's best friend and Lucia's sister. In this book,we meet him as the main character of the story who was tortured and made to keep secrets,we see him as a person who learning to become what he once was before the extremes manipulated him and washed away his humaity.

∆ Diana, a woman who says that when Rafe walked into her life, he caused chaos and that chaos is still there. Although, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised to find that Diana has been stalking Rafe since a long time, and THIS makes her a fierce, strong, independent woman. A woman, I am in love with wholeheartedly.

∆ I love how deceptive Diana is and how in too deep Rafe is. The push and pull between these two is oh so delicious 🤤😩🤌🏽but I also love how after getting to know Rafe, Diana is seeing for herself that she assumed wrong of Rafe and that is the most heartbreaking thing ever, because Rafe is all out there to protect her and be there for her, but for Diana it is a problem because she deceived him.

Broken Promise is the third installment in the Broken series by M. Malone and Nana Malone. It was yet another winner by these two amazing authors. What a rollercoaster of a ride this one was! Rafe DeMarco and Diana Renquist-Vandergraff's story was one for the ages!

Broken Promise is Rafe's book. Yes, that Rafe! The former trained assassin who was believed to be dead, but who now works for the Black Security firm. Noah’s best friend and Lucia’s brother. Rafe has been through a lot in his life and is trying to start again, but unfortunately for him his past is catching up with him, but not in the way he expected. Rafe meets Diana, and he instantly connects with her, although Diana is not exactly who she says she is. All while Rafe thinks he is trying to protect Diana, Diana is plotting her revenge for a past wrong that she believes Rafe committed. However, once Rafe takes Diana into his home and she observes him with his family and friends, she realizes that he just may not be the person who she thought he was.

Broken Promises is a fast-paced, action packed, romantic suspense thriller of a read. There is witty dialogue between the characters, and you get to catch up with your other favorite Blake Security characters from prior books. Overall, Broken Promises is a great read. I cannot wait for the next installment in this series.

I love the Malone's and their writing! This is the third book in the Broken Series and it didn't disappoint.

Many years ago, Rafe was on a mission to kill a man. When he went to do the job, the man's daughter was there. For some reason, Rafe felt like saving her life and told her to hide in the closet and he never mentioned that there was someone who saw him in any of his reports.

Fast forward many years and the little girl, Diana, is all grown up and out for revenge. She wants to find out why someone would kill her father and then kill that man. Diana concocts a scheme and before she knows it, she's living in his house, meeting his family and is learning about a totally different side to Rafe. They fall in bed together and it's explosive!

She's trying to learn more about him to understand why he would kill her father? He's wondering what secrets she's keeping from him and why she seems so cagey at times. These aren't the only secrets and of course, there are people after them. What will happen when their secrets are revealed? Will they be able to outrun those chasing them? Will Rafe ever get his HEA?

There was so much in this book and I not only love the main characters but I adore the members of Blake Security. A great addition to this series!

We finally get Rafe DeMarco's story in Broken Promise. Rafe's heart made a connection with Diana's right away, even though it took him a long time to realize it. As a former assassin/spy, he was very trusting of the total stranger he helped, even to her own surprise, when he sheltered Diana in his home after her accident. Early on, there were several times he didn't act on his suspicions about her, and it was never explained why he didn't which bothered me a bit, but I enjoyed their angsty love story.
Diana had been planning a revenge plot against her father's killer. For 10 years she's been training and plotting for the day she can confront Rafe DeMarco and find out why he murdered her father right in front of her young eyes. She wormed her way into his life to wait for her chance. Seeing him with his family and friends didn't seem to match the persona she thought he was which casted doubts in her mind. You could almost see them virtually circling each other with the clouded thoughts they had for one another. These same doubts played tug-of-war with their heartstrings. Would they ever come to trust one another with their secrets that could destroy their fragile relationship? Solid 3.5 stars

This third book in the Broken series is another exciting and steamy enemies-to-lovers romance! Diana has lived for revenge after witnessing her father's murder. This is an exciting story with twists and turns that captivated me from start to finish. Diana was a little naïve, but smart, and a fighter. Rafe was attentive, and sweet, with a dark side he tried to bury. They were so perfect for each other and I cheered hard for their fresh start, and their HEA. I am loving this Broken series and can't wait for more!

OMG I simply CANNOT get enough of these perfect dream team as they bring the thunder with the keep you guessing kind of suspense with a kicker of heat. Diana witnessed her father's murder, and she's been on the revenge track ever since so she's been stalking the man responsible for it. I have to say having a stalkerish heroine is very exciting because of #GIRLPOWER and all. Rafe is that man, and honestly, he's not a bad man despite his questionable decision making past. Rafe ends up rescueing Diana, and in order to protect her, he takes her home with him. The close proximity has the sparks flying as they are very much drawn to each other despite that whole revenge plot thing. It also puts a target on both of their backs so there's suspense around every corner bringing the twists in hot to keep me guessing. There's also the fabulous supporting cast from previous books that perfectly rounds out this thrill ride. Will these two umpack that past in order to have a shot at happily ever after?! You know what to do to find out because seriously, you can't go wrong with these very talented authors! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Keep your enemies close they say, and Miss Revenge let the assassin slide into her in “Broken Promise” by Minx Malone and Nana Malone!

This book is wild and exciting! Diana and Rafe are enemies, but are they? He went from enemy number one to zaddy quick, and the feelings and their chemistry are undeniable! Plus, the suspense keeps our body tingling as we wait for their first ever meet cute to come to light!

Diana’s found family is definitely better than her actual family! Boy, does her brothers get worse when they’re already the worst!

I’m happy for Rafe! After living as a ghost for so long, he has a home in all ways! Of course, he doesn’t feel like he deserves happiness which I appreciate reading because it makes Mister Protective more swoony!

As always, I enjoy reading the Malones fighting scenes and the hilarious, prankish teasing we get from those we can’t live without.

If you enjoy action packed, damsels in distress (but not), enemies to lovers, found family, hidden identity, revenge plots, and ridding the world of scum reads, then I highly recommend this book!

Even a ghost can sometimes meet their match…

Rafe’s story is here and readers are going love every second. He has returned from the dead and though he is still “adjusting” to life and all its changes, an unexpected run in with a woman needing assistance drags him back into the world he left behind. When you were once an assassin and an FBI agent your past always has a possibility to show up, only in this case Rafe doesn’t realize right away, but Diana, the woman he helps, knows exactly who he is…at least she thinks she does. Readers can expect plenty of excitement and suspense throughout this book, and a whole lot of intense passion! Make sure you clear your schedule before you start this one. The only reason I didn’t give this book 5 Stars is that in the beginning of the book the point of view switched from first person to third person within the same paragraph at times. It made things a bit confusing at the start but it is an minor issue that did not last the entire book, and it definitely didn’t take away from the overall fantastic story telling! Cannot wait for more from this series of characters!

Broken Promise, Book #3 in the Broken series is a steamy, suspense-filled enemies-to-lovers romance packed with twists and turns that keep your attention riveted to the page. Despite Diana's initial hatred toward Rafe and determination to exact her revenge on him, an undeniable attraction and passion spark between them. Still, there are extenuating circumstances and things won't be that easy. Danger lurks around every corner. Will Diana be able to stay the course and exact her revenge?

This was an intriguing and action-packed story. It was fast-paced and intense at times. There were dark themes in it as well. I liked the characters and the "found family" feeling among them. Rafe and Diana's attraction was palpable. There were times when Diana came across as a little wishy-washy, but I get she was torn and trying to protect Rafe. Rafe was tough on the outside, but he was a softy and fell hard and quickly for Diana. I loved the suspense. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I recommend reading it. This is a standalone with a HEA.

I really wanted to love this book

However, it was quite boring to me. I LOVE Rafe and was very excited about his book. Yet, I felt like the story kept dragging on and on. I was getting bored and OMG if Rafe and Diana had sex one more freaking time I was going to scream. It took way too long for Rafe to figure out who she was.. To be honest this story could have been told in 1/2 the amount of pages. I kept skipping parts to get to something that seemed interesting. For instance, Rafe just taking her to his house and letting her stay there. Not likely. He’s super vigilant and paranoid. Not doing a background check on her. Not likely. Knowing she didn’t exist past 3 years and continues to keep her in his house Willy nilly..Not likely or believable.

On another note can we PLEASE get one of these men to actually fall in love with a BLACK WOMAN..geez. Can we have a BLACK heroine? I’m tired of reading about blonde haired women with hot men of color. Women of color like hot men of color too.

This is book three in The Broken Series and it is Rafe and Diana’s story. Rafe is such a tormented man because of his past life as an assassin and spy. Diana is out for revenge but things are not what they seem. When Rafe rescues Diana this starts them both on a journey which will put a target on their backs and putting their lives in danger and it will take everything that Rafe has to protect and keep them both safe and alive if they are going to have a future together or go there separate ways only time will tell what the outcome will be for them both. There are twists and turns along the way with complications, danger, suspense, betrayal, secrets, drama, honour, great characters and chemistry that is so hot and intense that it sizzles off the pages. I couldn’t put this book down as it had a really engaging storyline that pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and I can’t wait to read more books in this series.

Diana is torn between trying to keep Rafe safe all while staying away from her crazy brothers and out of the clutches of her Uncle Boris. Diana is also on Rafe works extremely hard to protect Diana from her family and herself. With the help of the rest of Blake Security, Diana and Rafe navigate the dangers world of Diana’s family and dealing with the FBI. Broken Promise is action packed! Perfect for summer heat!!!

This story is filled with suspense, twists and red-hot chemistry. Diana acted with the best of intentions however falling in love with Rafe was a complication she wasn’t expecting while Rafe has given his heart to Diana so he will do whatever if necessary to keep her safe so they can finally have their happy ever after.
