I loved this book, but I also love dinosaurs so I might be a little bias. The Ice Age series is one of my favorite movie series so this book was great. The illustrations and characters are like the ones from the movies and I loved it. I haven't seen the movie, Dawn of the Dinosaurs, so I can't compare if the story resembles the movie, but I enjoyed this book. It's a pretty fast read since I'm an adult and it's good for first graders through third graders reading on their own although if there's a dinosaur day or dinosaur week in preschool, I would definitely read this book to them because it's fun and adorable.

[SPOILERS AHEAD]

The story is basically how Sid found some eggs, tries to take care of them, the eggs hatch, they think Sid is their mom and then the actual mom, a huge T-REX, comes and tries to eat Sid. The baby dinosaurs disapprove of this since Sid is the one who took care of them as eggs and they become protective of Sid. So instead of the mom dinosaur eating Sid, Sid and the mom dinosaur try to work together to raise the baby dinosaurs. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, but soon enough Sid misses his friends and goes back home since the dinosaurs live in more tropical jungle area and Sid lives in the snow and icy areas.
