This book actually gives me a gist of my ministry. I read it in High school, obtained a copy for myself and have been reading it over and over and over.
I HAD A GREAT ENCOUNTER THROUGH THIS BOOK ON 23RD FEBRUARY 2001 WHILE READING THE HARD COPY BOOK I SAW JESUS WALKING INTO MY ROOM AND SPENT 45MINS WITH ME. THIS BOOK WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE
Whatever you have heard of Benson Idahosa without reading this book isn't comprehensive. I was ones a member of CGM (his church). I thought I knew him but the information in this book gave me a better perspective of him. I met God afresh, discovered a deeper reason to follow God's plan for my life, understood faith a bit more, desired God and learnt what ministry isn't. For those who think it's a book for only ministers, please reconsider especially if you really do deserve a deeper walk with God and to life a life fully dedicated to him. You would also learn from his errors as much as you did from his success. More than that, you would meet the God of Benson Idahosa.
Fire in His Bones is a compelling book by Ruthanne Garlock on the life and times of Benson Idahosa. Click the link to purchase this book https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3542940593...
This is the book which stirred me up for God many years ago. Archbishop Benson Idahosa's testimony made me cry, but yet more ignited my desire for the fellowship of Christ's suffering.
Not so many know about the beginning of this man, Archbishop Benson Idahosa.
However, the life of Archbishop Benson Idahosa buttress the saying; BEHIND EVERY GREAT GLORY, THERE IS OFTEN AN INDELIBLE STORY TO TELL.
When Benson was still a baby, his father John, on several occasions called him a cursed child because of his numerous fainting spells.
John’s words to Benson’s mother were, ‘the next time he faints, you put him on the rubbish heap and leave him there. I am tired of your calling me home from my work, crying over a sick baby’.
Surprisingly, Benson was dumped into the rubbish heap and was left there for about 3 hours. But for his mother’s great affection, his assignment on earth would have been aborted abruptly.
The mother once said, ‘‘I don’t know what it is but this son (referring to Benson) seems special somehow- he is different from the others.’’
‘‘Fire in His Bones’’ is a fascinating story about this pioneer of legacies, Archbishop Benson Idahosa. A must read indeed!
His life stands out as a fitting example of Christian leadership, sacrifice, and devotion.
