About the author

As the second youngest of six children, I always had a vivid imagination and loved to make up stories. I often sat and daydreamed about imaginary characters and lost myself in books and make-believe worlds. My love of writing began as a teenager, but it wasn’t until recent years that I pursued it seriously. With encouragement from fellow book-club members, NEORWA and my husband, I began writing and submitting my work. Although Satin Sheets was my first published novel, I have over forty articles and stories published in magazines such as Good Old Days, Nostalgia, and Ohio Writer along with several online publications. Roseanne Dowell is a very prolific author of romance for those of us who've lived life, been through the ups and downs of its many pitfalls, and still have hopes for tomorrow's brightest horizons..Like many of Ms. Dowell's heroines, I have lived long enough to know reality is not always, fast, fulminating, creakless...(oh my achy joints)...nor is it without a lot of hmmming and hawing. By the time our hair has turned white, our joints have begun making funny noises and our bones are growing fragile, romance requires a lot of serious thought and consideration.

Ms. Dowell gives us that and so much more in A SECOND CHANCE. She gives us a healthy dose of down-to-earth-reality too.

BUT just when you think we're going to get a smooth sailing Happily Ever-after, she brings back the hubby who walked out before the story starts, finally realizing just how good he really had it...and now he wants it all back. What will our heroine do? Take a chance on the promise of the unknown, or take back the familiar even though the familiar let her down?

I LOVED this story, and read it all in one sitting. (I put my cellphone on SHUT UP! Cellphones can be SOOOO annoying!)

I am so pleased to see authors writing for the generation that is beyond the pale of first blush. Ms. Dowell is one of its best.

Will her thirty five years of marriage prove the stronger allure when her ex asks for a second chance?

Ms Dowell adds a mid western flavor to this winter treat, drawing her reader into the heart of a mature woman with lots of passion for life. The quaint family setting and interactions make for a cozy tale. How refreshing to enjoy a read about love and attraction between older adults. When it's right, love truly knows no age or time.
