This is a really nice book to teach young ones all about boats. The many different kinds of boats there are and common boat related terms and meanings are given. Boys and girls both will equally enjoy the rhyming text and cute illustrations throughout. I look forward to reading many more books by this author!

Here's a quick introduction to boats which works well with pre-school age children. There are three or four lines of rhyming text per page. Our two library story time performers took turns reading the text to keep interest high. The one not reading led children in actions prompted by the text such as tossing an anchor over the side or hauling it back up again by winding the chain.
