This is a very entertaining book, with a very ridiculous and unexpected twist that gives us a chuckle. Little-AJ and mummy both enjoy the book, although I probably won't call this my favourite of Pamela Allen's.

A lazy bird was searching for a perfect nest. First she tried a teapot, then the garbage bin, and then a pair of boots. Finally, she saw Mr McGee with his umbrella. "Is this the perfect nest? The nest that is right, just right for me?" For a moment, I was wondering whether the lazy bird was eyeing Mr McGee the man or the big blue umbrella.

I wouldn't have predicted such hilarious ending, and I must say it is quite a clever one. I also love the easy to follow plot, simple language, and the clear pictures with clean white backgrounds. A nice book, although I know Pamela Allen has quite a few better books than this. Hence, the rating of 4 stars.

Didn't enjoy this one. Kids will find the predicament of Mr McGee funny, and there are some excellent illustrations, but overall it falls flat.

It is a fun book. It is about a bird. The bird attacked Mr McGee.
