Francis Van Wyck Mason (November 11, 1901 – August 28, 1978, Bermuda) was an American historian and novelist. He had a long and prolific career as a writer spanning 50 years and including 65 published novels.
Seventeen seventy nine a push was made to open the land west of the Alleghenies, in Tennessee and Kentucky, in case the British won the war. Then the colonials could move west of the mountains and start their own country. The war was not going well for the colonials especially in South Carolina and Georgia but they persevered until the fight at Kings Mountain turned the tide. More discriptions in some areas than need be but a good read altogether.
