A really good book w/ good insights on the death of Imam Al-Hussein, luved how the writer started from the early days of Imam Al-Hussein's life when he lost some of his beloved family members and how he was affected by their deaths as a kid and how it affected him later on in his decision to move to Karbelaa' to meet his death...

Imam Al-Hussein lost his beloved Grandfather Prophet Muhammed-PBUH- then his mother Alsayda Fatima @ the age of seven, then his father Sayedna Ali and then his brother Imam Al-Hassan and finally his family, friends & companions in Karbalaa' :'(

The 1st half of the book is truly stunning and I just couldn't stop crying reading this part when the writer tells the stories of his beloved's deaths in details, so heartbreaking :'( , and I just couldn't help but feel sorry for the Prophet's family, Aal-Albait who truly suffered ALOT, I feel so bitter every time I read abt Aal-Albait and this bitterness never goes away, I feel the pain and injustice and I can't help but feel bitter...

The writer succeeded in passing this feeling to me as a reader w/ no big effort I must say, the writer continued w/ good insights and amazing data and info., luved his writing style as well, he had really good points and ideas..

The 2nd half wasn't as powerful as the 1st althou it contained the Epic of Karbalaa', but I didn't feel it like the 1st half of the book or like other books that tells the Karbalaa' story...

but in a nutshell, the book is really good, highly recommended..

BTW the writer is shia, and I gotta say that reading this book made me realize how we Shia and Sunnah r exactly the same when it comes to Karbalaa',I've read Karbalaa' in both and I can say that both r identical, the writer used the same sources -AlTabari + Ibn Katheer- in addition to other shia sources, the differences r little and insignificant..
There r huge differences between Sunnah & Shia and it's naive to say otherwise, but we have HUGE similarities as well-not that I care abt finding similarities in order 2 respect others,I respect ppl who r different from me, but similarities is defiantly added value- , we believe in the same Quran & we follow the same prophet, & we believe in Karbalaa', so start from here and let's work on it...
