Prior to his first professional work, Tynion was a student of Scott Snyder's at Sarah Lawrence College. A few years later, he worked as for Vertigo as Fables editor Shelly Bond's intern. In late 2011, with DC deciding to give Batman (written by Snyder) a back up feature, Tynion was brought in by request of Snyder to script the back ups he had plotted. Tynion would later do the same with the Batman Annual #1, which was also co-plotted by Snyder. Beginning in September 2012, with DC's 0 issue month for the New 52, Tynion will be writing Talon, with art by Guillem March. In early 2013 it was announced that he'd take over writing duties for Red Hood and the Outlaws in April.
Tynion is also currently one of the writers in a rotating team in the weekly Batman Eternal series.
5 stars if the art was a little more to my liking. As it is, this is a very good follow up to last years's DCeased stories. You would think Superman could tell who was or wasn't a vampire by using his senses and/or X-ray vision or such.
A fun issue of watching Bruce and Ollie misunderstanding each other and trying to kill each other. The ending sets up something I can't understand how two people will survive. Let's see.
We get some excellent writing between John and Zatanna, along with Ollie and Batman going toe to toe both suspecting one another of being infected. Yet we all know who the real focus should be on...
This is a fun series, so far. Quite the cliffhanger at the end of this issue, but it's easy to see why this series is a hit. Might end up being up there with DCeased by the end.
So much fun, the whole fight between Bruce and Ollie ruled and Bruce calling it the batfloor is hilarious. Only four issues in and we're already getting pretty heavy into this, excited to see where it goes.

I wish I could give this series six stars so far. I absolutely love it. It has everything I was looking for when I saw the ad for this title. It's dark and grim but also funny with great banter between the characters. It's intriguing with twists and a great backstory. It's like reading Dracula, watching a 1930s vampire movie, and reading Vampironica all at the same time. I love it so much, clearly. This issue is no exception. All the scenes--with Constantine, then with Nightwing and Batwoman, and with Batman and Green Arrow--are great, but my favorite scenes by far are the ones with Ollie and Bruce, up until the very end when we get the encounter with Diana and the other members of the Justice League. I really can't wait for #5, and I kind of wish I'd waited for the whole collection to come out, so I can just read this all in one book, but I'm already planning on rereading this whole series once it's complete. I love DC for this series and for Dark Knights of Steel this year!
This series is so much fun. I've said that already, but I mean it. I absolutely love the art, and the humour is great. The story is exciting. Weird as it sounds, it definitely helped that I watched DC Super Hero Girls animated series, because now I know a lot more of the heroes than I would have otherwise, which makes this a lot more fun. I loved the John/Zatanna part a lot. Only one thing, why is Nightwing such a stalky idiot in this?
Jumped right in with this issue! Batman (B) and Green Arrow (GA) have to get it right right away - some of their old team members are getting 'hungry' to catch up! Reminded me of the old Brave and the Bold series; and B/GA are going to have to be bold and brave like never before if they hope to survive!
Th The art is a bit rough and some of the characters don't sound true to themselves, but Bruce and Ollie facing off is funny, as is Ollie playing with a toy Batmobile from the '89 movie. Then it hits the fan. Really liked the quiet interlude with Dick and Babs, too.
This issue begins in such a humorous way, as Batman and Green Arrow try killing each other due to wrongly believing the other is a vampire. Once that's out of the way, the pair unite forces to stop stronger forces, while other pieces are put into place for what's to come. Another stellar issue.
Batman and Green Arrow are hunting down vampires, and not very well. I feel like they cut a corner and we got cheated out of seeing some cool vampire super hero transformations :(
