Jonah reluctantly agrees to go to Forever Dusk, a theme club for wannabe vampires. Five minutes is long enough until he catches the violet gaze of the mysterious owner, Sebastian. Inexplicably drawn to the mysterious stranger, Jonah makes a decision that could change his life forever.
Self-confessed horror fan Jonah reluctantly agrees to accompany best friend Theo and his latest squeeze to a new club downtown. Dressing up like an Anne Rice reject was not part of the deal, but that's exactly how he finds himself outside Forever Dusk--the latest theme club for wannabe vampires.
After watching a fake vampire sinking his fake fangs into fake skin and drinking fake blood, and warding off an attempted assault by a drunk moron sporting fake contacts, Jonah decides to beat a hasty retreat.
Until he gazes into the beautiful, violet-colored eyes of Sebastian O'Keefe, the club's owner. Inexplicably drawn to this vision of tall, dark, and mysterious, Jonah makes a decision that could change his life forever.
CONTENT ADVISORY: This title contains a "happily for now" conclusion.
I live in Leigh on Sea, a small seaside town just outside London on the coast of Essex, about ten minutes from Southend, which boasts the longest pier in the world. I live with my husband and two ever-growing children, who I let think are the boss of me; along with two dogs who actually are.
As the wonderful Beatrix Potter said, “There is something delicious about writing the first words of a new story. You never quite know where they’ll take you.” I know exactly what she means.
it was interesting story, I liked it even though i was a little confused with a couple little things. It was a pretty hot sex scene. There is more than just sex i was just saying the sex scene was hot. the ending was a little too open for me but that's kind of a personal pet peeve of mine. I think leaving it open the reader can just draw their own conclusions but i like being told more than left to think for myself
This was an extremely steamy little short about Jonah who is dragged by his best friend to a “vampire” club with his friend’s new girlfriend. Although he’s doing a thesis on horror movies, he’s really feeling this is too weird and would rather not be there, especially after being forced to wear skin-tight leather pants and a ruffly satin pirate shirt. He decides to just mind his own business and have a drink, but one of the other clubbers doesn’t take no for an answer, and Jonah is rescued by club owner Sebastian.
The story is told from both perspectives, you get Jonah’s feelings about being in the club and his sense that something is off about it all, but also his fascination with Sebastian. On the other side you have Sebastian, who despite running a vampire club for wannabes, basically finds them annoying and NEVER gets involved with customers. I also liked that while Jonah was feeling a bit flustered and tongue-tied around Sebastian, he went for what he wanted and made a bold move.
Once Sebastian decides to go for it, the sex was smoking hot and Sebastian’s slightly dominant streak once they get going, just had the pages sizzling. There is a bit of a twist ending, which some might see coming, but it was still a nice story that combined the uneasiness with the beginning, the sexiness of the middle and I thought a bit of humour/sweetness at the end. If you’re in the mood for something steamy I highly recommend it.
This was a steamy, seductive short story. I bought it on Amazon and thought it was well written. I also, really love the cover. I wish it was longer because the story was very intriguing–don’t let the Novella length fool you–go on over to Amazon and support an Author who writes really well and will captivate you. I’d buy it again in a heartbeat. I like Ms. Worrall’s writing style and I will be looking up more of her books.
This is a Male/Male erotic story, that was very sexy. I laughed too. It’s about a fake vampire club with fake wannabe Vampires. It’s a theme club where you have to dress the part. Jonah gets talked into going by his best friend Theo, where he meets Mr. Violet Eyes–Sebastian– and has a wild romp in the office. I’m not the biggest Male/Male reader (No judgments here, it’s just not something that I typically pick up first, but I have no qualms about reading any type of erotic story *wink, wink*) It wasn’t about being male on male but rather about finding solace in the moment.
I liked how the end was rather open ended. It was not a cliffhanger, which I hate, but rather a leave it open to the reader to interpret and that was cool.
I do hope she plans to write more involving Jonah and Sebastian. I would love to see more of them.
The more Lisa Worrall writes and the more of her books I read, the more I enjoy her work. This short story was no exception. What surprised me most of all, I suppose, was the dry humor about the wannabe bloodsucker club, the "vampires" pretending to bite people and using bags of blood to simulate the act of vampire feeding. It is so outrageous (and Jonah agrees, on the outside looking in at these people) that it looks and seems like a Hollywood set complete with props, with the irony being that the "vampires" are buying into their own play, at least for a little while.
Jonah was a great character and Sebastian oozes sex. The combination of geeky snark and fey looking and acting owner of the club are great to watch and have a real connection, first brought together by their mutual exclusion from the rest of the club. The whole story covers start to finish their first interaction as they dance around each other, trying to puzzle the other out while also shielding themselves from the other. I like that they seem to have an undeniable need to get to know one another and their dialogue is refreshing with so much sarcasm.
Anyway, it's a great story and I really enjoyed reading it. I'll probably read it again one of these days. It was capped, of course, by a very, very hot sex scene. Definitely recommended for a great short read.
Lisa Worrall’s Forever Dusk is a short story about college student Jonah, who goes with friends to what he thinks is a Goth club and finds something much, much more in the club owner Sebastian O’Keefe.
What I liked about this paranormal story was Jonah and Sebastian. Their chemistry was palpable and scorching hot. It was their meeting that drove the plot of the book along and propelled the unexpected ending. My only niggle is I wished the book had been longer to give a deeper background on Jonah and Sebastian’s histories before they met.
But overall, Forever Dusk was a fun, sexy and slightly dark novella that featured hot vampires, some well-placed humor and two main characters who oozed sex appeal.
A clever, fun read...with a dead on description of the vampire wannabes that made me laugh! Curl up on a cozy afternoon for a hot romp and enjoy Ms Worrell's always inventive and steamy mm romance.
Jonah gives in to his friend who wants to go to the "vampire" club, Forever Dusk, even though he doesn't really want to go. After being accosted by a drunk patron, his virtue is saved by Sebastian, owner of Forever Dusk. What happens after that is hot, steamy and oh so sexy! This is a very short but powerful story of two people discovering the unexpected. Lots of fun too!
No está mal. En el final, aunque es bastante obvio y predecible, hubo un pequeño detalle que no me esperaba. Igual es que me pilló con la guardia baja, pero me gusto mucho que fuera capaz de sorprenderme :)
This was a cute, sexy read. Forever Dusk is centred around a vampire themed club, it was short but fun. Another good story by Lisa Worrall, I really enjoy her writing.
Cute, super hot and funny short story. I liked the little twist at the end and I wouldn't mind reading more about Jonah and Sebastian. Plus, that is one sexy cover.
I really liked reading this story by Lisa Worrall. She takes what appears to be just another vampire story and gives the ending a twist that you'll never see coming!
