This is not a book of Wodehouse's own writings. This is Richard Usborne talking about Wodehouse. It's not bad, but it's not stellar, either. It's interesting, but not engaging. Richard Usborne at this point is collecting his previous short pieces about Wodehouse, including entries from Usborne's private journal that mention Wodehouse. There are several articles in the book and none of them are bad. They're just not really awesome, either. I managed to get through it and did learn from it. I didn't previously know much at all about Wodehouse. This book was the sort of unchallenging writing I needed at this point in my life (recovering from the sudden death of my husband). It was something I could say that I'm reading (and therefore not reading anything deeper or more challenging). I could pick it up and read a few lines and set it down without any urgency to continue the thought. I'm glad I read it; I know more than I did before. I have a slightly better understanding of the time period from 1890 to 1985.
