Truly a brilliant play. It's so sad that it seems to be out of print. It's such a timeless satire about a subject that continues to be even more important as time goes on: desertification, drought. This village plagued with a lack of water could be anywhere in the world and the way the villagers try to resolve their predicament and are met by typical responses from the priest, the police, the politicians, the government, and the media is all just tragic irony.
