Great book with wonderful photographs of real hedgehogs and cool facts. I read this book for our Pets Unit in preschool and they really liked it! They learned a lot about hedgehogs and found the hoglets (baby hedgehogs) super cute! Everyone was going, "AWWWW!".

This is a great non-fiction title that gives useful information (and excellent images) without being too wordy for it's audience.

Maps, clear photos, non-fiction text features, and text make this book an excellent choice for primary non-fiction readers.

A very good primer on a popular animal. Answers all the major questions about hedgehogs and points out something many other books gloss over-they are nocturnal. Tells you why they are called hedgehogs, where in the world they are found, how big they are, how long they live, etc. This is a larger book that the other two hedge hog books I reviewed and the big pictures make this the best choice for read aloud. A table of contents, glossary index and further reading suggestions-both books and internet sites, round out a solid nonfiction offering.
