Noel Bertram Gerson (1913-1988) was an American author who wrote 325 books, including several best sellers, among them two screenplay novelizations penned under the pseudonym Samuel Edwards, The Naked Maja, and 55 Days at Peking.
I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this book! This is the second title by the author that I've read and both were extremely well written. Gerson has a wonderful way of vividly describing the thoughts, scenes, and emotions that make the story so engaging without being too cumbersome or flamboyant, and I flew through the book very fast. I loved the author's perspective on the story, and think this is one of the best examples of character development I've read. Fantastic book!
