When man chose to sin, he cast himself into slavery and eventually death but God immediately began a plan to bring man back to himself. The incarnation and resurrection are all about God restoring the relationship between himself and men.

Wonderful book on the nature of the relationship between God and men. This tells the story of how God redeemed man, bringing him back into a loving relationship with him.
