Jake's life takes a turn for the weird when a local big shot dies, and Jake finds himself handling the funeral arrangements, including his client's last wish to be buried with his fortune. Jake must decide whether to take the money and run, or do the right thing. Or can he have it all?
The fact that the author wrote the first draft of this book as a NaNoWriMo participant gets the thumbs up from me even before I read it. Also that he sent me a tweet saying he hoped I enjoyed the book when I tweeted about my copy arriving the mail was another tick.
Now most of my friends know that I love young adult fiction and I loved how this was YA about young Adults in their early/mid twenties. It felt even more relatable. I loved the main characters especially Jake - characters in novels that ride scooters are awesome. The kind of novel that can be read in one or two sittings. It left me with a smile on my face and kind of wishing there was a follow up
The story was very good with a good plot twist. It is written by a Christian man and the Christian theme is woven through the whole book. The main girl is Mexican and runs a nonprofit for girls who want to get away from prostitution. (it is not a big part of the book, I just wanted to mention it.) I enjoyed it and it was written well! I reccomend!
