so obviously this book is from the early 70s so it is at times unbearably out of date and offensive— however they do touch on some interesting points about post incarceration and the lack of aftercare for formerly incarcerated people as well as quite a lot of information about what they call rehabilitation and reintegration when it comes to “social deviants.” that being said, i read this from more of an academic perspective than an enjoyment perspective and i wanted to see how ideology from 1971 held up!
