This is a very helpful guide to finding Mexican birds by Steve Howell (author of the excellent "A Guide to the Birds of Mexico and Northern Central America"). I've used this guide for some of the spots closer to the United States border (Puerto Penasco and south of Agua Prieta in Sonora). However I have also birded the Sierra Madre area east or Hermosilla (near Yecora) as well as Cozumel Island. These are fantastic birding spots and they whet the appetite for further adventures into Mexico.
