Blood of a Red Rose..we continue from the last series where secrets and lies are still kept from eachother.

Rose is in hiding from her father with christian's clan and all are waiting to know what to do in order to make all back to good again.
But is it easy when Rose is still keeping secrets? and now more dangers are around...things more dangerous than a vampire?

But when atlast all lies have come out in open...can christian n Rose overcome them n face it?Did what christian did will save rose and their clan?

That have to be seen in next series..

It surely is a addicting series! And i totally loved it.

The sequel in the Rose Trilogy starts off just as it ended: fierce, fast-paced, and twisted. Rose, as quirky and head-strong as ever, is left to deal with the task of coping with and accepting what she had done, and working out the aftermath - and dealing with what it revealed. The first few pages leave the reader caught up in Rose's world, dying to know what she is going to do with the secret locked within her blood and threatening her very nature. In spite of the inner conflicts seen in the first novel, it suddenly seems that disproving the belief that she was untouchably innocent and proving her strength and independence are the last things she needs to be worrying about. Instead, she's faced with her own shocking darkness - and vampires aren't quite so scary anymore. Except, of course, the possibility that if they found out her secret that they might rally to end her (and the threat she poses) the old fashion way: avoiding poison and ditching the fangs.

The boldness of the characters and their story seems to be a successful theme throughout the Rose Trilogy, and the fierce ultimatum between love and life were a creative addition. Choose one, and she just may lose both. The entire twist on what seemed to be heading for a wrapped up, happy ending in the last book is brilliant. As a reader, I was certainly willing to trade a little torture for more time with swoon-worthy Christian and his two-sided red Rose. ;)

The whole idea of, What do you do if by being with the love of your life, you could throw them into madness and eternal darkness? is just fascinating. And, of course, this easily five-of-five-star read executed the concept beautifully. Between going into hiding, attempting to avoid the father searching for her while dying to see him, being hunted by an enemy subconciously assumed neutralized, and trying to figure out the relationship of her nature and her boyfriend being a maybe-Sire, it's definitely not difficult to sympathize with Rose. Knowing super-passionate, completely trusting, sexy, misinformed, and in-love Christian feels so strongly for Rose while being at risk of drifting is completely maddening! Expecially amongst constant disputes, confusion, and edge-of-your seat anticipation. The character development continues to unravel, and is done exceptionally well. The multiple points of view were as efficient as in the first book, helping to drag the reader into a 360: the dramatic irony of varying motives, who's alive, what their plans are, and still being completely surprised at what plays out. All of the untied ends the prior book left exposed were quickly revisited and flowing again in the first few chapters, and it isn't long before the reader can catch up and fall into the novel.

The entire novel flew by. It was a surprisingly quick read: well-written, fast-paced, and completely engrossing. When the reader is convinced one end would come, another completely spun it into a tantalizing whirlwind, followed by the punch of an insane cliff-hanger that stays with you, although the book itself is entertaining, riveting, and fast. The revealed truths behind the privously unexplaind were shocking, while other sub-plots exploded on the sides. The pressure of anticipation built all the way to the last sentence, and the ending was incredibly surprising and terrible and beautifully sweet (and yes, that is absolutely a concurrent effect). The emotions of the characters, even when angry and unfounded, were written so well they felt very real and valid -- and both the twists and revealed answers throughout the piece were insanely clever (and in Terrance's case, just plain endearing) in their complex simplicity - which, in my opinion, has always been a sign of a great storyteller. I absolutely cannot wait to see what becomes of the main characters, and there is some seriously amazing things in-store for the next book.

I loved this!! It's highly recommended for fans of Evernight by Claudia Gray, Fate Fixed Fate Fixed by Bonnie Erina Wheeler, The Vampire Academy by Rachelle Mead, and The Vampire Kisses Series by Ellen Schribner.

Tish Thawer has a brilliant mind for plot planning and storyweaving, putting a spin on just about anything and from every perspective. Her writing is clean and precise , attention to detail is phenomenal.

What I loved about this book is that I got mad at the characters, got sad for them ,my heart raced and paced with the final climax. I am a sucker for cliff hanger endings - and boy was this ending not at all what I had expected. I gave an star performance to this ending. I write and crave to read moments like those. Thank you Tish for leaving the best part for last , leaving my heart to race and then come to a sudden halt. Thrilling experience indeed. I found the beginning a bit slow but it picked up beautifully and there were stories lurking within every character's perspective. Written from many POV it was a different twist to a read.

I would recommend to anyone who is over the usual vampire meets girl falls in love with her sweetness kind of book. Rose is awesome, she is not sweet and I love that about her, in fact I hope to see her provoke the darker side of Christian a bit more.

I read and reviewed the first book and the novella of this series; I'll try to review Blood of a Red Roses with a new twist, trying to be different! So I'll go with what I loved and what I didn't like!

I love this:
First of all, this series is amazing, if you're looking for something in between YA and Adult PNR then, you just find your match! The author, Tish Thawer, has developed writing skills and we can all have the proof of it by reading this series! She's using a really personal and professional writing style and I never get bored. There are always enough descriptions about the characters or the environment and the plot is thrilling: everything seems to have a meaning!

As usual the characters are more ripping/intense/beautiful always in the right way :)
Rose became more and more intriguing by her recent discovery (won't tell!!! :D) and she's struggling between telling the truth to Christian or keep it as a secret. I love to see the main character wondering about good and evil! Rose has a temper, but in this book, we can FEEL her temper!!!

Christian is still yummy, sexy, handsome, sweet and caring for Rose but he has to put aside what he care the most and embrace his destiny! (I want Christian) V. So as usual, I'll give my cotton candy man to Christian, who's already mine anyway!

We don't get to see/learn more about the rest of Christian ''Crew'' or Family in this book but the Tish Thawer have put the emphasis on something more important and maybe troubling (and yes more exciting!!!). If you have read the two first novels, you don't need to learn more about the other vampires in this family.

I fell for the ''bad guys'' in this book, the reader will discover the true nature of Meredith and how she can get what she wants! I love this character and I can't wait to see her face to face with Rose and see who will end up with the victory!

Special mention to a new character that wasn’t present in the first books but always in our mind: WHAT THE HELL!!!! Yeah, I like to be surprised and this one, I never see it coming! I'm eager to see where the author will lead the readers with this ''new'' character, it's seems that everything is possible!

Great ending: open enough to be able to include the third book from this trilogy. Again I was surprise, but in a way (if you have read the first book and the novella, you'll understand my point) it couldn't happen differently. Sometimes the ''bad guy'' has to win! (Ooooh, did I get your attention????) LOL

Things that I didn't like:
I wanted to know a little bit more about Terrance, what's happening with him. He did appear at the end of the book, but I think that Terrance is a very important character he's not really present in this book.

This book is a little short (for me)! I read this one in one sitting (Not a bad thing at all), this story is great, enthralling and more you read it, more you're getting excited and then you want to know more, but it's already the end!!! Tish Thawer, this book should be a 300 pages length! O.O (LOL)

The thing is: I can't explain why I don't understand the comportment of Jeremy, Rose's dad, but if I had a daughter, I don't think I'll wait all this time and try to find out what had happened to my little girl? I know she' s almost 21 years old, but I find this difficult to believe that Jeremy didn't want to know/learn at least see if Rose was ok, after the way the first book end....

Meredith is a bitch,... Oh no, I like that one! :P

This series worth the reading and the price you'll paid to get your copy, it's a fun, easy read. Well written, filled up with action, bad-ass demons and sexy vampires! You'll want to be a part of this family, but which one will you choose???

All I can do is RECOMMEND this book or/and the rest of this series, I almost love everything about this story and what a cover??? You want to read Blood of a Red Rose: you should read it in order; it's not a stand-alone book from The Rose Trilogy!

3.5 stars.
My Initial Reaction...
I like the characters a lot more in Blood of a Red Rose than I did in Scent of a White Rose, though I seem to enjoy reading the villain's part best. Is that wrong?

The Narration...
Stephanie Bentley did a pretty good job narrating Blood of a Red Rose. I mentioned last time that I wasn't blown away by her narration and I think I know why now - she speaks so slow and evenly, maintaining the same pace regardless of emotion. She still does a good job giving characters varied voices, but I think her pacing strips away a bit of the characters' personalities and makes them seem a little flatter than they would be if you were reading.

The Good...
I continue to really like the vampire mythology in this series. It's fresh and different, especially considering that we're dealing with vampires - I've seen it all and yet, this is something different. I particularly like the way the vampires drift and I'm interested to see how things will develop with Rose and Christian, especially with how Blood of a Red Rose ended.

I'm really enjoying the parts of the story told from Meredith's point of view. Yes, she's the "bad guy", but she's complex and not so black-and-white. I'm not sure I'm supposed to feel this way, but I find her sympathetic and I wonder how the story will wrap up where's she's concerned. I believe that she really loves Rose's father and I think you can see a real contrast between her and the other bad demons - she's not quite as power hungry. I wonder if the last book will give us a twist.

Rose and Christian's relationship is working a lot better for me in Blood of a Red Rose. Now that they're basically living together their relationship has a lot more complexity besides the "let's make out" of Scent of a White Rose. They have real conversations and real problems. It made them a lot more interesting to read and a lot easier to root for.

The Bad...
Although I do like Rose, Christian, Jeremy, Evie, etc - they are starting to feel a bit flat. I mean is anyone really so good? I like the complexity of Meredith and wish that they had a similar complexity. I still like them, they just could be more interesting.

Rose is stubbornly keeping secrets and I'm a little annoyed by it - even if I know it's important to the story. I think that, in her situation, she would have seen the necessity of telling what's up! She also hasn't grown up quite enough for me - but she's doing way better. She still said some things that made my eyes roll and made me think, "Am I really supposed to believe she's 21?"

Concluding Sentiments...
I really like the way this trilogy is developing and based on the major cliff hanger Blood of a Red Rose ended on, the last book is going to be even better!

pretty good

As soon as I finished Thawer's series opener, Scent of a White Rose, I couldn't wait until I would get the chance to check out the second installment in her trilogy. After meeting her wonderful characters and being introduced to this unique and interesting world Thawer created, I had to know what would happen to them next. Secrets were revealed, surprises and shocking twists were thrown at readers at all possible times, and this novel was definitely not lacking in suspense.

I was also relieved and excited to find that Thawer's gift for fast paced writing and flowing dialogue continued on in her second installment. I literally flew through this title, finding myself finishing it all in one day! It was addicting and I think readers will find themselves hooked and unable to close their books until the last page has been read. And what a last page it was! Some may feel differently but one of my favorite aspects of Thawer's writing and this series in general is that she varies her narrators. I love getting the chance to hear from each of the main character's points of view. Readers get a full compass of everything that's going on and how each character feels and views the goings on around them. It makes me feel like nothing is left out and nothing is held back.

The various narrators also keeps things exciting in my opinion. There's never a dull moment because even when the action slows down at points, it's at these moments where Thawer lets her readers get a glimpse into how her characters are reflecting on everything that's happening. I found myself just as anxious to read how certain people were feeling as well as finding out what would happen next. Thawer is definitely not one to leave her readers complacent and comfortable. She throws wrenches into her characters' well thought out plans left and right. There is no lull in the action and at times I could attempt to tamper down my frustration at all these characters were going through. It was exciting to say the least.

Now that Thawer has left her readers with another doozy of a cliffhanger to wrap this second installment up with, I'm once again craving the next book. Not sure when readers will be able to plan on seeing the third and final installment hit the shelves in this exciting series, but you can be sure that as soon as I find out the countdown will begin and I can't wait! Be sure to pick up your copies of this installment when it hits bookstores' shelves, tomorrow, May 8th!

Wow, and just…WOW! This book was even better than the first book in the series! Tish Thawer is an amazing author, and after reading book one and two of her Rose Triology, I am officially hooked and obsessed! This is a series you do not want to miss!

After Rose kills Meredith in Scent of a White Rose, Rose runs off and lives with Christian and his clan. Living with the love of her life should make her happy, but she is everything but. Rose has a secret that no one knows, she is half demon. Rose is more confused than ever on what she should do, Christian’s clan is putting together a plan to illuminate all demons, how on earth could she tell them she is half of the monsters they are trying to figure out how to kill? Unfortunately Rose has more than just her own demons to fight…Meredith is alive…and she’s stronger than ever.

I want to state that Blood of a Red Rose, is the perfect name for this novel! In Blood of a Red Rose there was, well much more blood, and I got to say I am not complaining at all, I loved the extra bloody scenes! Anyways, this novel was a perfect sequel to Scent of a White Rose! I don’t know how Tish did it, but she was able to keep my attention just as much, if not even more in this second installment! While in Scent of a White Rose you learn about the vampire side of things, in Blood of a Red Rose you are learning about the demon side of things.

On top of learning more about demons, we also get to go inside the mind of a few demons and see things from their point of view! I love how Blood of a Red Rose will switch point of views just like Scent of a White Rose, how Tish can switch to multiple point of views throughout her novels just baffles me! I have read a few Alternating POV books, but books where it flips to more than just two characters is a first for me, and I loved it! In Blood of a Red Rose I felt like I knew the characters even more than before, while the romance was a bit tense between Rose and Christian it was still beautiful and heart wrenching!

All in all, if you enjoyed Scent of a White Rose, then Blood of a Red Rose will NOT disappoint! This sequel was even more epic than the first, there were more secrets, more love, more blood and more everything! If you read Scent of a White Rose, you need to pick up Blood of a Red Rose as soon as possible!

~Can I say I totally love Christian in this series…just saying ladies this is a novel gentlemen you do not want to miss! (;

This book starts a couple of months after the last book ends. I like how Tish writes the same epilogue chapter from the previous book as the first chapter in the new book, so we don’t forget what we’ve read….Awesome idea!

At the end of the last book we learn the Meredith is one evil, spiteful, manipulative Demoness, seriously she HAS to go! I get where she’s coming from but she’s a total buzz kill, com’on Rose kill her already.

Meredith & Damien are planning to grow a demon army, for when the vampires come looking for them, this no doubt will eventually happen, Damien has a bit of a dark streak in him, that Meredith doesn’t like.

Rose finds out that not only is Meredith still alive but that her only member of her family left, her dad, has packed up and left the city.

She feels abandoned, alone and unloved.

Rose & Christian start to drift apart, secrets are kept from one another and this is hurting them both. Yes they both love one another, but is this enough?

We see the corporeal appearance of Loraine, Rose’s Mum :)

I’m glad that Tish has brought Loraine into this storyline, we learn that she can talk & touch Christian due to his “Sire” abilities.

Evie and the gang learn from her sire “Balam” that only a Hybrid Vampire/Demon can kill a powerful demon such as Meredith….but where can they find a demon who is willing to help?

Won’t the vampire turn dark when they infect this demon?

They don’t know Rose & Jeremy’s true history yet, and that in fact they are both Demons!

The ending ends on a high and such a cliffhanger, I won’t spoil it for you, only that I thought……..DID THAT JUST FUCKING HAPPEN? THE SHIT IS GOING TO HIS THE FAN WHEN THEY BOTH WAKE UP!

I love the change of P.O.V that she uses in her writing of this book. I like seeing the story from both sides, and Tish pulls it off well so that it doesn’t feel like a bog down.

Can’t wait to read the final instalment “Death of a black rose” COMING SOON!

Blood of a Red Rose takes place about 4 months after Scent of a White Rose. And again we see the story through multiple first person narratives. I've not read many authors that use this style of writing but it works when it's written well and Tish does a great job at keeping each characters' voice separate. Also the use of the multiple narratives gives the story a more "rounder" feel to it.

We join Rose after the events that took place SWR where she and Christian are in hiding after Rose killed someone in self defense. Rose has not seen or spoke to her father or friends in 4 months. Everyone is worried sick about her not knowing where she is and how she is doing.

Rose is keeping secrets from everyone in her life from her father about not telling him where she is to Christian and not telling him what she is. She is caught between a rock and hard place; wanting to have the happily ever after with the man she loves and knowing that they can never have it.

Christian feels Rose is unhappy and pulling away. He is desperate to get them back to their happy place but he doesn't know what to do, until he gets some help from an unlikely source.

Then there is Jeremy, Rose's father. He is living in his own world of secrets and heart ache. He misses Rose and feels a little guilty at having found happiness with his girlfriend so soon after his wife's death. But Jeremy soon finds out that not all is what it seems in his life.

Tish Thawer does another great job at putting a twist on the vampire story and builds on a great debut series. The war between vampires and demons is heating up and I can't wait to read the last book in the trilogy after the cliffhanger that Thawer leaves us with. Luckily I only have to wait to September to get the next installment, Death of a Black Rose.

After the recap of Scent of a White Rose (The Rose Trilogy, #1) by Tish Thawer we find four months have passed. Things have changed quickly for Rose's father, Jeremy. He's stepped things up with his girlfriend, Meredith without knowledge of her life-changing secret and the impact on their lives. Meredith proves to be quite the adversary as she gears up to strike first and protect her own.

Revelations and changes put a spotlight on the lovers that could prove to be less than flattering. I'm also not a fan of the hero/heroine painting themselves in a corner and stomping their feet when they aren't rescued from it fast enough. Given the givens, I was a bit surprised there wasn't more activity at the club and by the absence of Jillian.

The fragility of Christian and Rose's relationship after this amount of time and the proximity they share was not believable for this reader. The softness was fine previously since things were so new. This installment was even more far-fetched than its predecessor, glaringly because I didn't believe Rose wouldn't share the secret within the four months nor did I believe Jeremy's drastic change.

For my taste the characters weren't drawn strongly enough to support such drastic changes and their credibility was undermined. Also, the short chapters with the varying points of view were more annoying for this reader in the outing. The same scene was revisited albeit from a different point of view, I kept thinking I know this part already. I also found a few twists to be definite head-scratchers.

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. Rose and Christisn's story continues as Christian has developed signs that he may be the coven's new Sire. He and Rose are in hiding after they believe that they have killed Meridith, Rose's father's girlfriend. What he doesn't know is that she is the one who killed his wife. The coven discovers that Meridith is alive and that she is slowly building an army of demon descendants in order to take revenge on Rose and Christian. Meanwhile Jeremy (Rose's father) continues his search for Rose (although not too actively in my opinion), and Rose stresses over the secret that she is hiding and whether she should tell the coven and her father or not.

Tish continues with her wonderful story telling with even more twists in this book than in the previous book. I love the change of POV that she uses in her writing of this book. I like seeing the story from both sides, and she pulls it off well so that it doesn't feel like a bog down. The steamy scenes continue as the body count rises. The only thing that I don't enjoy about these books is the cliff hanger endings.

Like the first book I had a hard time putting Blood of a Red Rose down. The story starts off where the last finished and is completely captivating. Like the first book the transitions between characters POV was smooth and the thoughts seemed natural, however it seemed to change more often that I wish it would have. There are a lot of surprises that I didn't see coming and that just kept the interest up to high level.

This story is about Rose trying to keep her secret from Christian and the rest of the clan. Christian trying to figure out what is wrong with Rose and coming to terms with becoming the new Sire. Jeremy trying to figure out what happened to his daughter and learning the truth of things. And everyone else trying to figure out what to do about their enemy and becoming prepared to fight them, whither it be demon or vampire.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and can't wait to read the final book in the trilogy, Death of a Black Rose.

Just when you think you know where the story of Rose and Christian is going, author Tish Thawer adds several twists and turns to the storyline for book two of the Rose Trilogy. Actually, I love when an author puts in surprises which takes the reader to a place they hadn't even considered. I should also add that I definitely appreciate this author including several POVs of other characters because it gives the reader an insight into the character's motivation. I don't like spoilers, but the relationship changes going on between Rose and Christian cause me to wish that the third book in the series was available now. I love HEAs and right now am questioning if that is going to be possible for Rose and Christian, but have faith that the author knows the best "fork in the road" to take for them.

Blood of a Red Rose is an ok read. I found this book way slower than the first. The story goes back and forth between different characters and throughout the story one scene told from one of character point of view, then the same scene was told from another character which made it drag out. However I still enjoyed all of the characters. Jeremy has left with Meredith still unaware that she is the demon who killed his wife. Rose knows the truth about her father and herself but she has to keep the secret safe until she can figure out what to do. Evie has welcomed Rose into the group and Christian is determined to make Rose his consort even after he finds out what she is. The only problem with that is that demon blood turns vampires dark. The story was slow but I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see how everything plays out.

This trilogy is enjoyable and has a very gripping storyline, however there are a couple of things I just don't like. I am not a fan of the narrative changing points of view. Every two or three pages the story is from another character's point of view. In my opinion it stops the flow of the narrative. I also haven't found the characters to be well rounded. There is no conclusion or ending to books 1 or 2, the story just stops on a cliff hanger. Other trilogies and series have managed to have some kind of ending while leaving the story open to continue. This is an exciting story that is hard to put down, but with the above mentioned aspects that are less appealing.

This book was way to short! But seriously, I loved it. I can't wait for the third book to come out already! I have to know what happens between Christian and Rose.
I loved the character development in this book, especially Rose. Christian and Evie were interesting too. I was sad that Jillian was mostly absent in this book.
The storyline was smooth and I read it quickly. I was less of a fan of all the P.O.V.'s, but I liked Christian and Roses.
Overall this was a great sequel to a great debut. It is definitely worth a read:)
