After days of exposing themselves to the danger of prehistoric beasts and the harsh climate, the survivors break into several smaller groups - all trying to eke out an existence on the island. But when madness starts to effect some of the groups - everyone could be in jeopardy!
This volume of Cage of Eden includes special extras after the story!
The island is full of dangerous, extinct animals yet the most dangerous foe here is the humans, once again proving their shittiness. Ah well the things are moving forward as people are dying here and there and I shall continue to read forward and then I shall Keep on Reading.
I have always loved comics, and I have I can. I love comics to bits, may the comics never leave my side. I loved reading this and love reading more, you should also read what you love and hope always to love them. Even though I grew up reading local Indian comics like Raj Comics, Diamond Comics, or even Manoj Comics, now's the time to catch up on international and classic comics and Graphic novels. I am on my quest to read as many comics as I just want to Keep on Reading.
Murder and mayhem continue in this volume. We see more action from Arita-Kun's group. It will be interesting to see how the reunion goes between Arita and his old friend Akira in the next volume!
This was my first time reading a genre like this in manga, and I was really surprise because I love it as much as I love this kind of genre with my books!
My, I just love the idea of mixing suspense, mystery, adventure and science fiction (?) to this story. It was definitely a first time for me and I have to say that this series is going to stay with me for a very very long time (probably forever hahaha).
I love the suspense and mystery (like duh, haha) and I don't think I found some parts in this series that I dislike.
Dang, I'm just rambling haha. Ohh well, just read this series and I'm sure you'll get hook too. And oops, that ending was....I dunno, I just feel that we're going to expect more to come ;)
This volume was when Cage of Eden got really gross. From the start, this manga was always a little skeevy, full of panty shots and other fan service. I can handle that. But in volume 4, they introduce a cross-dressing ten-year-old boy. Despite being only ten year olds, the manga frequently shows him in suggestive poses and leers at his panties just like the older characters. And judging from the covers in later volumes, I see no evidence that this will change.
Yuck, yuck, yuck. I cannot recommend this manga to anyone because of this.
This book and its series is pretty good. Its about people from a plane crash landing on an abandoned island and trying to survive while hoping for a rescue to come and save them. The main characters are school kids trying to find out if they are alive or not. In this volume, the main character sengoku founds out that one of his close friends is a serial killer because he got hit in a head by a rock. After being surrounded by a group of killer extinct animals, they have figured out what was wrong with the killer and got him to calm down and be on his side
World: The art is solid, other than the gratuitous panty and boob shots but the details in the forest and the animals are all pretty great. The world building is okay, it’s kinda fractured and we’ve stopped looking at what and why of the island and have for the last two books focused on the survivor groups and how each one of them are terrible and bad. Three groups in a row, it’s getting repetitive.
Story: The two stories we find here are aight, it’s nothing special and you see the turn coming fairly early. Whether it’s earned is another thing but I’ll talk about those below as they are character issues. The pacing is alright and the drama is interesting. There are still instances where the manga nature of this book takes readers out of the immersive world and into ridiculousness, like the pantie shots and some of the instances with the best friend and the 10 year old child who is running things, it makes no sense and your disbelief pulls you out of the story.
Characters: I will say out and out that the turn and the weird situation with the best friend is utterly ridiculous and pretty illogical, out of this situation we have a mass murderer? Makes no sense and is unearned an feels really contrived. Then there’s the stuff with the child which is also pretty illogical and breaks that character cause it’s so utterly ridiculous all the things that are happening. From his/her gender to the power struggle to him/her ruling the group, it is utterly idiotic. The rest of the main core group is getting there in terms of depth. There was a little for Ohmori this arc but her depth with her friend was very short lived and she was pretty okay with her friend dying and just moving on which was an issue.
It’s okay but the manga sections of this are really starting to conflict with the overall story, it seems like the author can’t help but insert these things.
I hate the fact I'm intrigued by the mystery and story premise/idea of this series.... because there is too much fanservice in this series... and I'm honestly getting weary of it and some of the questionable choices being made... Since I have vol. 5 on my comicsplus shelf I'll read that, but I think I will DNF the series after that one. Also as far as I have access, I can only read 17 of the 21 volumes printed so I probably should just call it quits sooner than later because of that fact. This is not a series I would ever consider spending money on just to get the ending of the story.
The group around Akira find a cave which is filled with other, extinct species. Unfortunately the group becomes seperated and now they are trying to find each other. The series is pretty solid til now, im excited on how the story continues.
I was curious about storyline in first 3 volumes. Even first half of Vol 4 was great. Later it falls flat, and I really don’t know why so many ppl are killing and getting killed. Hopefully, it will be answered in next few volumes.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
If you've read my previous review, then you know that I had some issues with the idea of a group of adults blindly following a young girl. (Or maybe you raised an eyebrow at that as well?) In any case, they do deal with this in volume four, and I'm glad for it. It's rounded up a little swiftly, but that's because there's a bigger issue at hand here: Arita Kouhei.
Yes, we have our teams meeting up for the first time since the crash and the scattering of all of the teenagers. Obviously I can't divulge everything here, but Kouhei's group has taken a rather nasty and bloody turn for the worst. It's actually a rather interesting turn of events, as it helps set up a bigger overlying arc for the series and hints at what the potential for insanity is.
Art-wise, I'll admit that I'm getting tired of the fanservice. It's still the type of fanservice where it's worked into the story well, but the thing is... it doesn't need it. The girls are cute enough and the story is good enough that it just sort of feels superfluous. Anywho, the artwork is still pretty nice and I love the attention to detail. It's part of why this series works so well.
If you've been liking the previous volumes, you'll enjoy this one as well.
