K.A. Mitchell discovered the magic of writing at an early age when she learned that a carefully crayoned note of apology sent to the kitchen in a toy truck would earn her a reprieve from banishment to her room. Her career as a spin-control artist was cut short when her family moved to a two-story house, and her trucks would not roll safely down the stairs. Around the same time, she decided that Chip and Ken made a much cuter couple than Ken and Barbie and was perplexed when invitations to play Barbie dropped off. She never stopped making stuff up, though, and was surprised to find out that people would pay her to do it. Although the men in her stories usually carry more emotional baggage than even LAX can lose in a year, she guarantees they always find their sexy way to a happy ending.

Cameron Lewis is a water safety instructor who travels a good part of the year for his job. Noah Winthrop, Cameron’s best friend Adam’s kid brother, has had a crush on him since he was 15.

I started out liking how Noah and Cameron tried to resolve some of their early relationship issues, their difficulty communicating and their power struggles. Noah is a very appealing character. Cute and sexy with his dark, long, floppy bangs and bright blue eyes. Cameron was an arrogant jerk and even with his declaration of love for Noah later in the story, I just couldn’t feel the love at all. The sex scenes were frequent, repetitive, lacking emotion, and very boring. They started to blend together and I found myself skimming through them to get to the resolution of their relationship. This was also rather disappointing as neither Cameron nor Noah had much depth or complexity. A little more drama and angst and less sex might have made this a more satisfying read.

I found Joey a very appealing character and look forward to reading more about him in Collision Course.

No gay cowboys this time, I promise.

Um, gay....lifeguards and pool instructors? I confess, I was a little hazy on who did what, because in this book, there's sex on every other page. And what sex it is. Whoooo boy. Hot, hot manloving. That coffee table will never be the same, but luckily it has the desk to hold its little hand and commiserate.

Cam deflowered Noah sort of roughly after his best friend (and Noah's brother)'s wedding. Everyone with me so far? After that, the two of them led completely separate lives until Cam taught a water safety course that Noah was attending. After the course, sex ensued, and then more sex, and then a bit more, and then some angst, and a relationship (kind of), a big fight, a bigger fight, a makeup and a denouement.

I'm in two minds about this book. Did I mention the sex was ridiculously hot? Noah's just crying out to be dominated and shown how to embrace the bottoming, but Cam's...he's not a likeable character. And I really wasn't rooting for Noah to stay with him. He's the sort of boy your friend calls you up and confesses dating, and you start making them an ego-boosting mixtape, because they have obviously gone astray.

And yet the hot sex. It makes sense. Noah is young and fond of getting his cute little ass up on a coffee table for the taking, and boy can Cam take. And take and take.

So overall...I'd say read this book for the hot hot sex, especially the desk that was never the same afterwards. I swear that thing sustained some structural damage. Hands down, hottest thing ever.

But be prepared with the mixtapes on hand.

Urgh, this is the kind of story that doesn't work for me.

Why?

Because all I can remember about this story will be: sex, blah, blah, Cameron being a jerk, sex, sex, arrange Cameron to become a jerk again and Noah to be a walking mat, sex, sex, sex, short separation where Cameron think of the brat and the sex, and Noah cannot let go of his crush and the sex, and sex, sex, sex. In the end, I just skip all the sex pages, find out what happens with them in the last few pages, close it, and move on to another story.

Burning HeartIf you happen to be of a particular passionate persuasion and dynamic this will make you hornier than a puppy with two peters..with toes pleasantly curling.

It tastes so good you want to eat it forever and never be full..

A lot of visceral sexual content and dialogue..as it should be. Read between the lines and you'll have no problem whatsoever finding the story.

The best part of this book was the excerpt from Ally Blue's Untamed Heart at the end. :) (I'm a little biased, I adore Ally Blue.)

So basically... I did not enjoy this book anywhere near as much as I hoped/expected too. It sounded really good. The "I had a crush on you years ago" thing is one of my favorite themes in m/m romance, as is the "oops, I'm f*cking your little brother" theme. Which is why I loved J.L. Langley's The Tin Star. But this book did not satisfy.

There were basically two problems:
1. WAAAAY too much sex. If you've read any of my other reviews of m/m books and I said there was too much sex, this one blows all of those out of the water. Also, the sex scenes lacked real emotion and started to get to the point where I was wondering if it was even technically possible to twist your body that way.
2. In between sex scenes, Cam and Noah can do nothing but argue. Unfortunately, with the exception of their very last fight, I couldn't ever figure out what they were arguing about, why they were mad or why they suddenly weren't. It didn't make any sense.

Between all the sex and nonsense arguments, there was no time to really get to know the characters or really believe in the love story. This would have been better if they had just filmed it and released it as a gay sex instruction video.

I did, however, like the character of Joey, Noah's ex-boyfriend, so I'll probably still read Collision Course. Hopefully that one's better.

Lots and lots of sex... There is some romance between the sex, but most of all this book is about sex! I'm not complaining... just stating a fact!

I don't think I can do a full review of this. I am at a loss as to what to say. Noah has had a crush on his brother Adam's friend, Cameron, since he was 15. They finally get together the night of Adam's wedding when Noah is 19. I believe Cameron is 5 years older than him? I don't remember. Cam disappears without a word the next day. Several years later they meet up again when Cameron is teaching a water safety class and Noah just happens to be one of the students. Noah still has the crush and of course they get together.

I will start by saying that Cameron was a jerk when Noah was 15. He was a jerk when Noah was 19. And he was a jerk several years later when they met up again. In the beginning I felt sorry for Noah. He was obviously in love with Cameron. Very much in love. But Cameron treated him like dirt. It was all about sex and manipulation as far as Cam was concerned. After awhile I stopped feeling sorry for Noah. I felt that he was weak and needed to grow a pair already. If Noah tried to get serious about the relationship... and tried to discuss it with Cam..... Cam accused him of being a brat.... or made it sound like Noah's feeling weren't real... like they were just part of a silly crush... like he was still a 15 year old child. OR... Cameron would make it all about sex. The fact that Noah was a grown man and not a teenager never factored it. It was all about manipulation. There was A LOT of sex. Normally that's fine. But in this book it seemed to be the only thing going for the couple. I got to the point where I started just skimming over it. There was emotion only on Noah's part, not Cameron's. All about Cameron and control. I totally hated his character, obviously.

There was no compromise except way into it and I was not happy with the way that panned out. Noah finally got around to putting his foot down but that was weak. Very weak. I never felt the love between the two. I felt it from Noah but never from Cam, regardless of what he said or how many times he said it. Maybe had Noah stood up to Cam early on, my opinion might be different.

It takes a hell of a lot for me to give any book 1 star. But if I hate one of the main characters from the very beginning it is usually a good bet that I will still hate him at the end. That's how it was with Cameron. If I don't like the MC's I can't like the book. I definitely did NOT like this book.

^^ALMOST DROWNED!^^
3.5

I thought Diving in Deep was gonna be awesome , but it was decent at best. It had some sexy points but the two male characters just sometimes annoyed me, so stubborn they were. Maybe all that diving and breath holding made them lose oxygen to the brain, which left them stupid.

THE RUNDOWN- Noah is in love with his brother’s best friend and he decides to make a move. Well you see Noah is 15 at the time and Cameron feels he is a little too young. Plus he will never make a move on his friends little brother. Well fast forward a few years later, Noah is 19 and no longer looks like a child. Cameron runs into him at his brothers wedding, he takes the relationship to the next level with some mind blowing sex. The next morning Cameron realizes his mistake, and leaves without even so much as a thank you for the wonderful lovin or a goodbye. Fast forward seven years and they meet again.

NOAH- Has always been searching for his Cameron, and he has realized that no one compares to the real thing. Running into Cameron again is like being 15 all over again, the insecurities comes rushing back, and the hoping that he might like you this time. Well Noah is no longer a boy, he has got the body and the face of a man. He wants nothing more than to get Cam back in his bed, but he’s gonna play the I don’t give a damn card.

CAMERON- Is tired of the one night stands, and he is in the mood for some settling down. His works keeps him constantly on the go so the idea of having a permanent home is kind of scary. Until there was Noah, that night together has constantly been on his mind, and now he is back in his life sexier than ever. He has a lot to overcome translation, he needs to get his head out his ass. His stubbornness might lose him the one person who might make his life better.

PLOT- It’s a very simple plot, both Cam and Noah have to let there feeling known, but they are like children. Seeing each other over a span of weeks at a time, the relationship is strained. Cam needs to let go of the fact that it is his friends brother and move on from there.

FEELINGS- It was alright, didn’t really like Cam all that much, but he wasn’t horrible. His decisions were kinda childish, and his procrastination about liking/loving Noah became annoying. Noah I liked, his character just felt real genuine. Together there scenes were kinda hot, I really enjoyed the little D/s that was thrown in, kicked the book up a notch. Overall an alright read with ok characters.

This is my first K.A. Mitchell book. It was a light romance about Noah Winthrop and the man he has been in love with his whole life, Cameron Lewis. The book starts 10 years after Noah realizes he's gay and 6 years after their one night stand.

After the initial setup, the story travels rapidly through their relationship. Cameron travels a lot for work. And while the story is from the POV of both men, we never quite get a clear picture of Cameron. All of his POVs are almost always when he is with Cameron or at least on the phone with him, so I don't really know what his life is like.

Noah on the other hand- we meet his family and his ex, Joey, (who is the MC of the next book), and we get to know him. I would have liked to see Cameron's POV during the final parts of this book when the big conflict arises, but other than that and enjoyable read that made me want to pick up the next book, which I did immediately.

Noah has had a crush on his older brother's best friend, Cameron, since he was 15-years-old. At 19, Noah loses his virginity to Cam on the night of his brother's wedding. Fast forward five years and Noah and Cam's paths cross yet again. Sparks fly and Noah is intent on hanging on to Cam, despite his dick-wad ways.

I liked this book. I admit, Cam was an ass. At first, I felt so bad for Noah. He'd been beholden to this crazy crush for years. Unrequited love/lust sucks! Even though Noah didn't really stand up to Cam every chance he got, he did make a stand when it counted. And, by then I felt that the power shift in the relationship had changed. There was tons of sex in this book and while that's not something I usually complain about, I would have liked to see more relationship development outside of bed (or the hallway, bathtub, beach ... wherever those two were banging each other's brains out).

Bottom line: a smexy, steamy read - with tons of hot sex - about two water safety pros that find their HEA (despite the fact that one of them is prone to being a dick for 85% of the story).

Wow, that was a whole lot of "fuck until you love me." I lost track of the number of sex scenes (after 9) and while there were some instances of them going to the movies or eating out (plus those few training days when they reconnected), it seemed like there wasn't much else. Plus, it just kinda...ended. Like there was supposed to be that big family reveal (after the one with the brother), but that didn't happen.

Hard to admit "too much sex" is a complaint!

This book really is almost entirely sex. Noah and Cam are very likable leads, but their long-distance relationship means they actually don't do much of anything together but get it on. I didn't like it as much as the other Florida books, though it's certainly very hot. Love getting to know Joey, one of the great characters in M/M fiction.

This was a fun read, nothing heavy. Noah Winthrop has been in love with his brother’s best friend, Cameron Lewis since he was 15. After a one time fling when Noah was in college, they went their separate ways. When they meet up several years later, Noah is all grown-up and Cam takes notice. Wow, did they have fun! Lots and lots of sex. This brought to the surface some hidden desires and forced them both to face their feelings. The lack of communication got frustrating at times but they slowly realize they need to grow-up or lose what they have.

I really enjoy Mitchell's writing. The books haven't wowed me but there something that keeps drawing me back.

This was not as provoking a story as it should have been given that Ms. Mitchell is a talented author.

Little development of characters. Less development of plot. It was sex filled but emotionally passionless. I got bored.

I feel as Nancy did when in her review (see it at: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ) she wrote, " The sex scenes were frequent, repetitive, lacking emotion, and very boring. They started to blend together and I found myself skimming through them to get to the resolution of their relationship. This was also rather disappointing as neither Cameron nor Noah had much depth or complexity."

I only made it about three-quarters into this book until I gave up. It was very disappointing, especially based on the ratings other readers gave this book. The characters are very one dimensional and shallow. Even the sex scenes are not very steamy, in fact they can be downright confusing. I had to reread some passages trying to figure out how they switched positions around so quickly. Its light reading and might be nice to read if you can use your imagination and fill in the gaps in the story. Frankly, the cover of the book is saving this from being a one-star rating.

Well, I read this series backwards, but that is okay since number one is just as good as number 3.

Cam knows Noah as his friend Adam's younger brother. Noah and Cam share a fateful night at Adam's wedding. It has been 6 years since that night, now they meet again in a class that Cam is giving on CPR. Neither has forgotten, but Noah has never stopped loving Cam. Cam does not need love, just someone to have sex with. Noah has other ideas.

This is hot, sexy and riddle with angst. Great combination in any book. I give it a classroom full of stars.

I kinda read this series out of order but it really doesn't matter, these books can be stand alones.

Crushing on your older brothers best friend...yeah buddy!

Ahhhh....Cameron & Noah what a hot couple (even when they weren't actually a couple they had some steamy tension between 'em). This was a quick read :) quite a bit of sex but it wasn't the same stuff every time...a lot of variety :0) Even with all the sexin we do get a bit of a 'realistic' story or at least some of the issues that are dealt with are realistic....always a good thing!

Have another book to add to the "why the fuck did I give this 5 stars?" list. It is not nearly as bad as some of the others in that group, but there is no fucking way this is a 5 star read. While the characters are interesting, their cocks get more page time than their story, their personalities, or the plot. With the fact that it is usually one scene centered on actual story for every three scenes of run-of-the-mill dicking, I think it is fair to call this a porno with a slightly better than average backstory.

I skipped pages. there was too much sex with a creep and boy with no self respect. Cameron is a selfish prick who never thinks it's his fault and would never compromise. his way or the Highway. It's emotional and mental abuse. Only his feelings matter.

Noah did all the compromising. he had the upper hand but threw it away for this jerk who repeatedly treats him like trash. It came to a point I wanted to see Cam gang raped by AIDS ridden psychos.

There was so much missing that could have been improved. I felt like the plot was unsubstantial, and like it was just kind of a fluff smut book with a happily ever after.

I wanted to throw my kindle by the time I made it to the last page.

Unfortunately I didn't feel there was a story here at all. If you are looking for a book with sex on every page then you will probably enjoy this. If you are looking for a romantic journey with that sex, this is not the book for you. I just didn't get it. Oh well.

A PLEASANT AND SEXY READ.

I liked it. Like all the other K.A. Mitchell books I've read.

For some reason, I have a love and hate relationship with her writing. I don't like her narration. It's almost all over the place for me. I really liked her dialogues and I love how she writes the sex. stuff. She is a very good sex writer. It's actually what I look forward with her books. (the sex)

Cameron is the bestfriend of Noah's brother. He knew Noah from way back and he also knew that Noah has a crush on him. He's attracted to him too but he's holding back because he knew how awkward it could be knowing your bestfriend is screwing your younger sibling. His job makes him travel most of the time so he can't see Noah regularly.
I liked him. I can see that he is trying to make an effort with Noah but it took him so long to realize his feelings with him.

Noah is the younger brother of Cam's bestfriend. (obviously?) He wanted Cameron for the longest time. And even after meeting Cameron a few years after they last met, he still want him. But he had a hard time dealing with their distance.

Can I have a special mention of Joey? I've read Collision Course a few months ago before I read this. And I gotta say, I never thought I'd miss him. His presence in this book made it more fun to read.

The story begins in a diving seminar which Cameron is the speaker. Cam saw Noah there, as an attendee. He last saw Noah during Adam's (Noah's brother) wedding. Cameron is Noah's childhood crush. And he still want him up to now. Cameron though is still apprehensive on dating his bestfriend's little brother. The story goes on as the two of them figure out how to deal with each others attraction.

It's been a while since I finished this review. So forgive if some things are off.
This book has actually a great premise. Well, who doesn't have a crush with their friend's sibling? ;) It has a great beginning, but during the middle it dragged for me. But thankfully the ending was great.
The erotic scenes here were great. Mitchell is really a great sex writer.
this read is actually more 'real" than fantasy. So be aware of that. What I mean is the situations, characters and their reactions are more real than make-believe/movie-like. Even with that, I've still enjoyed it.

And with that I recommend this for peeps who want a nice but sexy and spicy read.
Enjoy! :D

I am a bit stuck with a few books and I can't seem to get over the end of a series I loved, so I needed a light, thoughtless read and this was perfect. Light and thoughtless are not bad qualities for a book, especially when it means it can make your mind relax. I am not a overly romantic person, but this was romantic without being fluffy, in my opinion.

Noah has been in love with Cameron, his brother's best friend, since when he was a teenager. After a passionate night after his brother's wedding, Cameron flees, leaving a perplexed Noah alone. After seven years the two meet again. Noah is all grown up and Cameron can't help feeling attracted to him. They began an affair that is mainly sexual, but Noah has never fallen out of love with Cameron and Cameron slowly begins to realize he needs Noah, and while Noah is afraid of revealing his feelings for Cameron, Cameron doesn't feel he can make a further step in their relationship.

As many reviewers said, there is indeed a lot of sex, but I think it's not meaningless, because these guys test themselves during sex, pushing each other boundaries and seeking and finding a connection. I think the progression of their relationship was believable, with Noah having to push to be acknowledged and Cameron having to open and risk something to be with the younger man. I also think that their interaction reflected the different ages of the protagonists, with a more idealistic Noah and a more experienced and jaded Cameron.

I am happy to say that this book exceeded my expectations. There is no big drama, or big misunderstanding, there is just the understandable reticence of two guys who are discovering what being in love feels like. Recommended.

Little Noah Winthrop used to tag along on adventures with his older brother and his brother's best friend Cameron Lewis. That was one thing; but the boys got older and young Noah's feeling morphed into a crush on his big brother's best friend. Now, that's something else entirely.

Years later, the boys met again at his big brother's wedding, Noah got a taste of what he wanted while Cameron chalked it up as a harmless one time thing. So why is it that six years later, when the boys meet yet again, that despite Cameron's happiness as a lone wolf, that that attraction is still there and more insistent than ever?

This tale involving two hot guys that are both fans of hot sex is initially engaging and the sex scenes are initially hot. Even the story of how Noah knows what he wants and must convince Cameron that Cam's unattached lifestyle isn't really the best is engaging to a point. However at 200 pages, this story seemed to sag part way through and I sometimes wished for fewer sex scenes and more character & plot development.

Overall this is an enjoyable read but perhaps not the best of its type.

Other reviewers have told me that the other books in this series are stronger than the initial one and I'll probably check that out in the future but I'm not feeling any rush to do so immediately.

Well now, that was a delightful, sexy story. There is even a slight allusion to plot in there with all the p0rn.

I loved how the characters actually grew up and started taking responsibility for their own lives. And I loved these two men, Cameron and Noah. Perfect.

Best line?

"Okay then. But if either of you try to turn my sons into"—Adam paused, lips pursed in disgust—"Yankee fans, I'll kill you both."

Indeed.

Lots and lots of sex. There's not much storyline here. It's one of the, 'he doesn't know what he's missing until it's gone tropes.' normally I love lots of sex in my reads but it really needs to have one of three things, emotional connection, extreme hotness or sadism. There were a few hot moments but the rest seemed mundane. Sorry.

I enjoyed Noah and Cam and liked the ending but this book wasn't enough of a story for me. The M/M sex scenes (which I do love) got a bit repetitive after a bit and I found myself skimming a lot. I will be continuing with this series though.
