I've been waiting for this book to drop for a while and I must say that " Dirtiest Revenge" By Cha' Bella Don definitely didn't disappoint! It was a fantastic story of lies, betrayal, and most of all... revenge.Kendra & Trent have been together for 6 years. After so much time together, they begin to fall out of love with one another. With Trent's scandalous ways and his never ending lies and excuses, Kendra has no choice but to play dirty as well, setting up an amazing story line that will leave you guessing until the very end. Dirtiest Revenge was a fast paced read that played out like a soap opera in my head. I thought I had all the twists and turns figured out about half way thorugh but I was oh so wrong. Looking forward to reading more by Ms. Cha'Bella Don. 5 stars!!!
The beginning was a s little slow .. As the book progressed the characters began to grow on me .. There were so many events or acts that at some points I could visualize a short movie perhaps an evening crime drama. This book brings to light the cold reality that ones closest relative can harbor such HATE simplely because of their own inability to follow their dreams and embrace themselves ...
Okay, I'm not sure that I read the same book as everyone else that gave it all these five star reviews. For one, a lot of the characters made no sense to me. Their actions made no sense to me. For instance we start out with Trent saying he's thinking about having sex with Nicole because she turns him on so much and she's the one who can get him off so well but then he turns right around and says how sexy Kendra is and how much he loves her. Um... did I miss something? I didnt understand the purpose of going into Kendra's background of her being a stripper so extensively when it had nothing to do with the story ultimately. Her beef with Candy... what was the purpose of it because it had nothing to do with the main drama in the book.
Admittedly, I skipped a lot of pages. It just seemed so trivial and plot driven instead of character driven. Now to be fair, the book did pick up with a great amount of action towards the end. That being said, there was no pay off. We dont get to see a big show down between Trent and Wiz over Kendra. There's no "you used my girl against me" type of conversation. NOTHING. We dont get to see any interaction between Nicole and Trent in regard to revenge. I mean she shoots him. He doesnt get to say anything or call her any names for the way she was trying to get at him. She just finds him and shoots him. I mean, I expected some type of conversation about what happened. But no. Instead, the author opted for some surprise ending with the sister which to me was totally out of context and character. That particular bomb being dropped was not shocking or necessary. I didnt really care that the sister betrayed Kendra because the story wasnt based around their relationship. Yes, they seemed close but my attention wasnt really on Kendra and her sister. So when the author dropped the "you've been betrayed" bomb, I didnt care. I was like ugh, really? Then Wiz' mom coming for Kendra. Who cares? The mom wasnt even in the story then just magically shows up at the end. And that's the dirtiest revenge? I wasnt convinced. I liked the action and drama between Trent and Kendra; Kendra and Wiz; Wiz and Trent; Trent and Nicole. But the tying up of loose ends was mediocre at best because the author tried to go for shock value rather than developing the triangles she'd already spent so much time building.
This could have been an exceptionally good book had she put more thought into it. It seems a little rushed and like her ideas were all over the place.
Final rating:
3.5 stars- this is for the action, and the sheer will to write a book
There were a lot going on. Wiz started out to pay Trent back, but fell in love. Trent was a dawg that did Kendra and Nicole wrong. Marco seems to be the best man in the entire book.
Nia shocked me, she made my mouth hang open. Ultimately it ended the way that I thought it would. A woman scorned can be a dangerous/deadly thing. It also proves that you can't trust people with your food and drinks. There were a few errors, and in the beginning I just knew it was going to be just like the rest. That extra twist made it worth my time.
This book was HOT. From begining to end the plot was excellent. Never did you know what to expect next. Had me so intense about Trent and Wiz next move. Very well written and all over excellent read.
That ending was something! I guess everyone got a bit of revenge in the end. This book taught an valuable lesson, when you seek revenge against someone the cycle will never end because that person will always have someone that wants to get you and so on and so forth.
