Living adds meaning to life, not ideologies.
Didn't know an 80 year old book can cause introspection and question everything you believe in and make you rethink your opinions, acts and even question the very own idea of an ideology.
If not anything, the book asks you to move and not stay stagnant in your own rot.
The pinpoint accuracy in depicting the conflicts of human thoughts and then in eventual actions is artistic. Also, at no point you'd want your protagonist to win but you yearn to find out where he ended and how he entered his conclusion. As one races through the book, it is a game to figure out how he ends up and what he makes of it.
The greatest aspect of this book is the authors ability to seamlessly intermingle human stories of those around him with his complex mental and emotional emptiness. The moment you think his turmoil is too depressing or harsh on your soul, a character pops up to add some colour and depth again to his weightless wild thoughts and actions.
If you are a fan of Telugu literature, please read it. There's a reason why this book is still being reprinted 77 years after its first print in 1947.
It is worth any readers time and mind.

దేవుడి మీద నమ్మకం చచ్చిన మనిషికి రెండు మార్గాలు ఉన్నాయి అని Friedrich Nietzsche అన్నాడు (నాకైతే ఆయన రాసింది అలానే అర్ధం అయింది). ఒకటి శూన్యవాదం (Nihilism) - దేనికీ అర్థం లేదని. అంతా మిథ్య అని కాలం గడిపేయడం. మరొక మార్గం సూపర్ మ్యాన్ (ubermensch) - జీవితానికి మనమే కొత్త అర్థం చెప్పి బ్రతకడం.
ఈ నవల లో కథానాయకుడు శూన్యవాది. తనకున్న జ్ఞానం తో తను ఎందుకు ఏ పని చెయ్యడో సమర్ధించుకుంటూ ఉంటాడు. ఈ పని నేను కూడా చాలా సార్లు చేశాను. ఒక సినిమా ఎందుకు బాలేదో లక్ష కారణాలు చెప్తాను. ఒక సమాజం ఎందుకు బాలేదో కూర్చుని గంటలు సోది చెప్తాను. కానీ నాకు ఆదర్శవంతంగా అనిపించే సినిమా, సమాజం కోసం ప్రయత్నించను. బద్దకం. సాకులు చెప్తాను. ఈ జీవిత కాలంలో అవ్వదులే అని వైరాగ్యం ప్రకటిస్తాను.
ఇలాంటి అసమర్థతకు భలమైన సమాదానం చెప్పారు ఈ నవల లో. "అసమర్థుని అంతం" లో 5వ ప్రకరణం నాలో ఉన్న శూన్యవాదాన్ని ఎత్తి చూపించింది. ఈ ప్రకరణం పలుమార్లు చదవి నాలో ఉన్న శూన్య వాదాన్ని అంతా కడిగేయాలి అనిపిస్తుంది.
perfectionism, existence preceedes essence లాంటి ఎన్నో విషయాల మీద చర్చ ఈ నవలలో ఉంది.
ఈ పుస్తకం 1947 లో ప్రచురింపబడింది అంటే నాకు నమ్మబుద్ది అవవట్లేదు.
