In less than a day, my simple life disappears and if I don’t have an alien warlord’s baby–everyone I know will suffer.
When strangers visit my home, I learn my life is a lie and my father isn’t who I thought he was. To save us and our town from the powerful Syndicate, I agree to have an alien warlord’s baby.
And then kidnap it.
Ulfar is nothing like I expected. Powerful, dangerous, rough. Gentle, caring, protective.
If I confess, I’ll be sent to a prison planet and my father will die. If I leave, I’ll break more than my own heart.
Sarah (h) is desperate to save her father from the powerful criminal Syndicate he’s indebted to and agrees to bring them the child she’ll conceive as a client of the Intergalactic Surrogate Agency. Ulfar (H) never thought he’d find a match but when Sarah arrives, he hopes to convince her that she’s more to him than just a surrogate. The pair very quickly begin to get to know one another with lots of hot and steamy action, and as they spend more time together their connection deepens. But Sarah struggles with her feelings for Ulfar and knowing how much she’ll hurt him when she leaves with their unborn child to save her father. Hot and steamy action throughout, with AO dynamic, heat, slick, and more.
Sarah Eriksson shelves the books in the library and notices a tablet left running on a table. It displayed a page from the Intergalactic Surrogacy Agency, and she thought about the courage of the women who participated. It pays well and is only a year commitment. But she was not adventurous and prefers to live quietly with her father in their small town. Tonight as she walks home, there is a transport parked from off-world, but she continues to her house. When her father doesn’t meet her, she peeks into the room and sees him trembling as a huge alien holds him up in the air by his collar! As his father yells for her to run, the alien grins, drops him, and comes at her. Then a woman told her father to explain the deal he made to his daughter.
The woman was from The Syndicate and said her father had been a guard for them. He and a female prisoner had a child and they escaped. They are here to kill her father, but Sarah begs for a new “deal”. They wanted a baby so she offers to join the surrogate program, have a baby with a powerful warrior, much more value than if they took her, and then hand the newborn over to them. This would save both her and her father. But when Atraxia agrees, she has Sarah’s father taken to her ship. She hopes when the time comes, she can think of a plan to save her baby too.
Ulfar is not what Sarah expected. He is a powerful warrior, but he is also kind, protective, and gentle with her. Already she is someone he hopes to keep forever. Both of them get to know each other and their feelings get stronger. But Sarah can’t back out of her deal with The Syndicate or her father will be killed. Will she run from Ulfar to honor the horrible deal? Or will she be smart enough to tell the truth to Ulfar who may be able to free her and her father from this unthinkable debt?
Sarah is prepared to pay for the sins of her father… then she sees the true cost and wonders how she’ll ever cope with having paid it.
Ulfar sees so many things in Sarah, intelligence, kindness, eyes that hide a secret, and most of all a woman he’d fight his greatest enemy to protect.
This done in one book walks a fine line as Sarah transitions from her Father being her sole family, and in that sense her world, to discovering Ulfar could capture her heart - if she’d only let him, and create a whole new world for her. Each is committed to those they care about, but can Sarah risk going against a criminal organization for her own happiness? Or must she uphold a devil’s bargain, even as she comes to see that Devil in more disturbing clarity, because her responsibilities are her own? Where many stories delve into trust as a purely emotional issue, here it is an issue of physical safety, and plays out in a page turning story.
I read Ulfar in Kobo Plus and chose to share my thoughts.
Love it all the more when it is the turn of the one who has scoffed as all his friends succombed and then it it finally hits him too. These ones are my favourites especially as said friends get a little bit of "I told you so" . Sarah was always been kept safe by her father until she gets home one day to find that all she thought she knew what not quite the truth. She is quick to make a deal but will it save her and her father? Ulfar has laughed at his brothers-in-arms as they have found their heart-mates whcih is someting he never anticipated ever finding. Yes well seems like humble pie is on the menu. Sarah could have been whiny and annoying but she wasn't. I really liked her and you just will it to be ok as you read. Ulfar was such a darling as well as poking unf at himself for his past thoughts which made him all the sweeter. Great read.
Sarah is a human female who is a librarian. She lives with her father and is quite content. Then one night when she arrives home she notices a spaceship hovering in front of her house. On arriving home she finds her father being man handled by aliens! That is when she discovers that he stole her when she was little from the alien version of the syndicate. To save her father she offers to join the surrogacy program and when she is pregnant to take the child to them. They agree and take her father as insurance. Now she finds herself on another planet and meeting Ulfar. As she tries to remain distant from him and come up with another alternative things get complicated. Now she has to decisions to make but will they be the right one? Fascinating and enthralling story!!.

Srah's fated is threatened by a crime syndicate. She get suckered in making a deal to give up her baby to save his life. She signs up as a surrogate for an alien warrior. She matched with Ulfar. Ulfar knows immediately that Sarah is someone special to him. As they spend more time together, he realizes she's its heart mate. When the crime syndicate takes Sarah and their unborn child, Ulfar enlist his friend and fellow warriors to track them down and retrieve his mate and child. This book has wonderful characters, protective and understanding sexy alien male, the power of family, a strong human woman, action, adventure, and plenty of steamy scenes. I really enjoyed this book.

I just couldn't get into this, it fell flat to me and Sarah is TSTL. She literally enters the relationship planning to become impregnated by an alien and steal the baby, renege on her contract and save her dad from being murdered by aliens... But she barely knows how sex works and never thought to plan through and has no assurance that they'll even let him live.
While this wasn't terrible, it felt very surface level and I couldn't get a sense for or connect with the characters. I didn't get that bond or spark and the basically have some pretty basic sex right after meeting and it's just not engaging or very hot IMO.
Ulfar and Sarah come together and have such a story to tell. The best is intense between them and the passion hot. The outlines that bring Sarah to this point also keep the pages turning and add depth to the story and the relationships between characters. Their love proves true with just the right amount of violence for an alien warlord romance novel. Just good!.

'Everything about her screams submission in the most carnal, delicious way. This has to be a gift from the universe.'
I enjoyed this book. It was a fun read. I thought Ulfar and Sarah were really sweet together and had great chemistry. I thought Ulfar very caring and I warmed to him very fast. But Sarah carries a heavy weight on her heart of what she must do to save her father. The story had action and suspense and I was completely hooked to the page. 5 stars.
This was another wonderful addition to the series. I love Ulfar and Sarah's story it's great to see another warrior finding his mate. It was a unputdownable story that takes readers on a journey filled with danger, passion action and the unbreakable bond between fated mates.

First book I've read by Taylor Neptune and wont be the last. Sarah and Ulfar's story is full of sizzle, steam, twists, turns, action, drama, and more. Well paced and even though part of the Intergalactic Surrogacy Agency series can definitely be read as a standalone. A solid read.

I have enjoyed other books in this series, however, I'm finding I don't like the tropes with characters behaving in an unethical manner even though they know better. She comes to their world as a surrogate planning to steal the baby to give to shady characters back on earth to protect a father that didn't even treat her well.
