I love Fitzgerald, I love his work. I think the two are inseparable; you only see the true beauty if you look at the man alongside his writings. So his letters are amazing, detailing his personal life - social life, holidays, debts, romances - with insight and wisdom, especially in his letters to Scottie. He also comments a lot on literature, both his own work and general literary theory. The letters are beautifully written, and the content remarkable. The only possible criticism is that perhaps it would be more logical if all the letters were presented chronologically, so it's always clearer which events are being referred to
