Warren Truitt presents 60+ male nudes shot in the 1980’s on black and white film.
In a richly saturated world of the internet, digital technology, social media, and content subscription services like Only Fans, images are no longer rare or hard to find. While nude photos abound, thoughtful and inspiring human forms have become more difficult to discover. Thumbing through a curated book of images created with an artful eye and simmering sensuality sans blatant arousal, I find myself connecting to something human far beyond sex/sexuality.
Being born in the early 1980’s and closeted into the 2020’s perhaps has created a thirst for an authentic revisiting of the past. Whatever the reason, I find this now vintage—to many, obsolete—book of photography a soothing balm and meaningful journey of self discovery.
