A portrait of ancient Greece encompasses Spartan youth, religion, the Olympic Games, early medicine, women's lives, and military history, from the struggle against Persia to the exploits of Alexander the Great.
Surprisingly detailed read for such a short book. Captions and images were helpful as well. Great starting off point for first-time learners of Ancient Greece. Most of all I enjoyed it!
This one wasn't as good as other Living History books. But that might be because I didn't find the Greeks to be particularly interesting. He breezed over Alexander the Great and I wanted to learn more about him.
