The Wolf

“What are you doing in here? Damn, never mind, I lay claim to you.”

Thrudheim was a small town sent in the Rocky Mountains and her new job was there, at least she hoped so. Her realtor was missing in action and she had no other choice but to head towards the green neon sign that stood out in the darkness. As the rain pounded against the roof of the Jagged Edge Bar, ZenzaLee Ellis walked in, unaware of the danger that lurked within and she walked right into it. When Dyre slammed her against the wall, claiming her as his own, she couldn't deny the raw, sensual energy that coursed through her body. From that moment on, she was his, and he was hers, even though she didn’t realize how deep that bond would go.

His home was more than just a small town, it was a haven, and it seemed their so-called Mayor hired a new teacher without asking his permission. That would be handled, but now Dyre had an outsider to deal with—take care of—whatever. Why did ZenzaLee have to be so damn beautiful and smell so good? The secrets of town, and the mysterious entity that he hunted and the disapproval of his pack, threatened to tear them apart. But the intensity of their desire only grew stronger and with every touch, every kiss, every breath they took together, Dyre knew he could never leave her side. As the darkness closed in around them, he couldn't help but wonder if his love would be enough to keep her safe. To protect her from the forces that sought to destroy them both, he would give his beast free rein home and anyone in his path should be very afraid. Friend or foe.

Enjoyed this

This was a great read and if the typos and moments of "okay I get" didn't happen so much it would be a 5. With being said we get a wolf town who gets a gift in a human teacher...
I loved that the story started on page 3 and didn't really stop ... the bad wolf era kind of drug but the end was worth it. My first time reading this author and I will be reading more.

very good

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up this book but I must say that I enjoyed it a lot. I really locked how Archer and Zeenalee grew to live each other. Great story

Woah, ZenzaLee had no idea what she was walking into when she was driving towards a new future that night.
It turns out she's not just a simple human but a special one to a very special group.
Except her past follows her.
She just wanted to start a new life but ends up making a new one not just for herself but her new family as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Hmmm

I've Dahlia books and this don't really read like her older books. For a moment there I had to double check to make sure who the author was.

I like the premise of the book. I don't think I'll ever get on the bandwagon of a female alpha being called Beta instead of LUNA. That is a biased of my own that'll never change. Also, the traditional marking didn't happened...no lie, I was disappointed.

The mystery surrounding Zenza lineage leaves enough thirst. It'll be interesting to find out who she really is. There has to be more to the story. However, Dahlia Rose is known to leave him series incomplete. Sad, because I really love her work. I just don't think I love this one, but I DID enjoyed it.

Oh, we understand ASL is being used to communicate, we don't have to be reminded every other page...at least I don't.

This is not a traditional wolf's story, but it's one I can ride with. If there is another book, I'll read it. The characters have to depth and I love Archer. Zenza and Drye was flesh out and enjoyable. As I started earlier, I have my own biased; however, it didn't take too much away from enjoying it overall.

I'll give it a 3.5. The typos was a little distracting. Anywho, give it a try and see you yourself 🙂

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and found some elements, refreshing, like not hiding the fact that the town was inhabited by wolves, humans and hybrids. The heroine is claimed within the first 10 minutes of walking into the wrong place, at the wrong time and told right away so she could make an informed decision on whether to stay or leave. Overall, she took the reveal quite well.

There was a bit of drama at the beginning that was immediately nipped in the bud. However, I continued NOT to trust this person (I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop) right up until I got to a pivotal moment. This is a single-dad (my kryptonite) story with a kick-ass heroine who is the new ASL teacher in town.

This story packed an emotional wallop, with tug at your heartstring moments with a kid that wants a mom, and a community who welcomes the heroine with open hearts and arms. Oh yeah, there are also hot, sizzling sexy times. This book goes straight to my read-it-again pile!

Highly Recommended: Read It!

Awesome

WOW this is such a action packed story with deep feeling characters. There are interesting twist and turns with everything we expect in a great story. Such as wild sizzling passions and a captivating couple that makes this awesome to read. This story will bring a smile to your face with lots of emotions. The characters are awesome and the pages burns up with their passion and chemistry. Zensa is a feisty heroine who is so independent that it makes you cheer her on. This is such a pleasurable experience that you will be kept on the edge of your seat. I have to say that this paranormal story is awesome by this author is suspenseful and definitely binge worthy. As I said earlier it will make you turn each page until the end. There is a lot stuff going on with these characters, Dyre is sure about his mate but Zensa have trust problems because of her ex plus along with everything else they have evil to fight. What a story to enjoy. Even the secondary characters are great just as well! Got enough yet I hope not because this story is so captivating. ENJOY!!

Very good read, Zenza Lee an ASL teacher, travels to a small town in Tennessee for a new job and a chance to escape her stalker ex. Unfortunately, not knowing this is a shifter town. After traveling from Florida, hungry and tired she goes into the only building in the town that is lit. She stumbles into The Wolf's Den where a meeting is taking place. She is almost about to be set upon by some of the patrons, when the Alpha lays claim to her. The Alpha, Dyre realizes that she is his mate, so he explains to her what she is in for. They slowly court amongst trouble coming for the both of them. For her it is her ex, and for him it is his brother, who is purely evil and wants everything that Dyre has. Plenty of action and a great story line and wonderful, colorful characters.

If you enjoy Dahlia Rose’s worldbuilding, you will enjoy this wolf-shifter romance from my prospective. ZenzaLee Ellis finds herself in danger on her first night in a new town. Dyre Hagen rescues a human woman who stumbles in the town. He learns that she is the new ASL teacher, after he has claimed her as his mate. As Zenza and Dyre attempted to navigate their relationship a threat is on the horizon. Dyre and the council learn there is more to Zenza that meets the eye.

I enjoyed the story; however, I wish more context would have been provided regarding Zenza’s Beta position. This was a different kind of shifter story regarding the pack hierarchy.

Although I felt like I was reading a sort of "what if" shifter version of Thor in the MCU, those elements thrown in were cute and quirky; and I liked it. Dyre was an interesting alpha and the community he lead had some interesting characters. I liked that he gave a lot of consideration to his people. It made him a good leader. ZenzaLee's introduction into the community was kinda of a wth moment, but she rolled with it. She actually did a good job of that. It went a long way for her within the community. They complemented each other well.

Throw in some past and present drama for our couple and the town, a little cutie for an alpha's son, and its a nice read that keeps you to the end.

Loved it

If you like shifter stories you will love this one
It is a little different as only Dahlia can do
Zenzalee accepts a teaching job unknowingly in a shifter town the only problem she is a human. Her first encounter is with Dyre, Alpha who claims her immediately
So the story begins
It is full of excitement, great characters, action a real page turner
And we get a epic love with Dyre (wolf) and Zenzalee
I loved the epilogue but would love a bonus one to give some insights to what happens Viola, Claus, Archer (grownup), Sigrid and of course Dyre and Zenzalee future together
Highly recommend this book
Another great one by a great author

Creatively done

I enjoyed reading this creative wolf-shifter book. We see ZenzaLee Ellis running for her life to get away from an abusive cop boyfriend. She's scared and she took the first job hidden away in a private community in the mountains thinking she is safe. Little does she know about the community and barrels right into alpha wolf shifter Dyre who claims her immediately to protect her and because his wolf recognizes her as their mate, but she turns out to be more than just a mate.

We see Zenzie go from a scared woman to a strong beta for the pack that welcomes her as their own and is willing to protect her with their lives, just like Dyre.

I liked it! The thing with insta-love/fated mates stories is that it is hard to feel the relationship in the beginning. So the initial meet cute wasn't really my thing (but it might be yours). But once you pass the meet cute the story is AMAZING! The twists and turns come out of no where and I ended up reading the entire book in one sitting. I hope there is a book two and that this is part of a series because the relationship was settled but I feel like there is more in store for the people of Thrundheim.

Alpha and Beta

Sometime running from one place leads you to a home you never knew.
I am not a huge paranormal/shifter fan. Dahlia Rose and 2 others are the exception to that rule. I love hiw the pack family is connected and communicates. The coming together of human and shifter is good to see.
I enjoyed the story and the "sexy times" as Zenelea called it. There were a few errors at the beginning and in the middle that were missed by editing. It was enough to lower my rating to 4 stars.

Somewhat Enjoyable 3.5 Stars. If you're looking for a quick summer read this one is not half bad. The premise on which the story is based is a good one but I found the last few chapters condensed and rushed. The leading protagonists Dyre and ZenzaLee are interesting and very easy to bond with but their story felt incomplete. If this book was more in-depth it would have been a great paranormal read. It's a 3.5 stars for me.

I haven’t read anything by this author in a while mainly because I was waiting for another series of hers to be finished which it never was. Zena takes a job in a small Tennessee town and falls into a den of wolves. She is quickly claimed to save her, but trouble is following her and the town. This is a cite story that doesn’t really suck you in, but it does make you wan to read it until the end.

Loved It but...

This was an amazing read, in my opinion. It was captivating from beginning to end. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars was all of the typos. It's as if there was either no editing or the editor didn't fully edit as they should have. Typos are really becoming the norm with a lot of writers and if attention isn't giving to correct this issue, it will eventually take away from the hard work and effort of the writer.

Typos!!

Excellent book - Just too many typos. When a work of art has a major/noticeable flaw, no matter how much you want to you can't overlook it. I have enjoyed reading Ms. Lee's writing for many years and I bought this book based upon this remembrance and I know these typos won't stop me from purchasing her next work of art; but, I hope that I won't regret my choice. Its a shame that pride in the detail no longer seems to be a viable option.

The Wolf is ZenzaLee and Dyre's shifter HEA. Zenza moved from Florida to the Appalachian Mountains in Tennessee to teach. The moment she enters the small town bar she instantly realizes she left "normal" behind, and is now in a world she didn't even know existed.
I really enjoyed this quick read. It was steamy and fun to read.

had been claimed, ZenzaLeeand that was from everyone—every damn one.

I throughly enjoyed this book, once I got started I couldn’t put it down. I love a great shifter romance, especially interracial and this did it for me!!! Everything I love in a couple, they had it in spades. Their bond, the sexiness, his wolf wasn’t playing. This has its sad parts but the good times as well. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.

Zenza was hoping for a fresh start, not to be claimed by Dyre within seconds of entering the bar, after her realtor never showed up. Dyre puts his pack first, having someone new around always heightens tensions but this time hes claiming this one. well written engaging desires steamy scenes and more.

I really enjoyed this read and it helps that this is my favorite genre. It has a great plot filled with love, family, betrayal, hotness and family bonds. The author did a great job of tying the characters together with the storyline. It's everything rolled into one glorious read. I highly recommend you adding Dyre and Zenza's story to your library.

I enjoyed this book. It flowed smoothly and held my attention. ZenzaLee was looking for a fresh start and She took a job as a teacher in a town she knee nothing about. Dyre was the pack leader. One smell of ZanzaLee and his wolf growled ready to Claim her.
I recommend this book.

Zenza Lee arrives to start her new job as an ASL teacher but when she runs into Dyre and he publicly claims her, she runs into the realms on the paranormal.
This is a story with a difference. It is not your typical story where shifters have to live in secret or a will-they won’t-they type of story. This is a fresh take on a human entering the shifter world.
This is an enjoyable read. 5 stars!

Sooo Good!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was a bit weary when there were references to Thor but the storyline proved to be very entertaining. I loved that the lead character was a woman of color and I loved that the shifters were described as having different ethnicities. I will definitely read more nooks by Dahlia Rose.

A Howling Kind Of Love

This was a great book! The love and relationship between Zenzalee and Dyre was great! The story line was great! The characters were great! And I would do a disservice to anyone by giving out spoilers. Just get the book! Otherwise, you will pass up a great opportunity for a great read!
