Bahahaha! I never thought I would find the sequel to Vampire Beat, since I'd only stumbled upon that one in the first place but lo and behold! At the same shop I found book 1, I found the wonderful, gory sequel. What joy! What bliss! What snickering.

There were twists, there were turns, there was demonic impregnation, and all sorts of fun stuff. Some of the cliffhangers were great and I was kept wondering with who would survive and who wouldn't be sticking around to bow in front of the curtain.

If you liked the first one, I recommend this as well. It wraps it all up nicely. Ish.

A nice mash up of Miami Vice, late night 90s USA network, vampire detective genre, with a generous slab of gore. A fun read!!

I enjoyed this novel more than I thought I would. The writing was excellent, the characters were well thought out, and I enjoyed the twists along the way. At many points while reading, I did not want to put it down because I wanted to see what would happen next. The one downside that took me a while to get used to is the fact that the author uses characters’ first name or last name to identify them, so in the beginning I was very confused as it sounds like he is writing about two people, when really it is just one.

This is the second case for vampire detective Christopher Blaze. During the time when I was watching shows like "Forever Knight", I really enjoyed these kind of novels.
