A transitional chapter book that teaches children to always respect and be kind to animals. It also encourages children to have responsibilities. I think most kids, both boys and girls, would enjoy this book because kids love animals.

I would have this book in my classroom library.

It was OK. I was left a bit disappointed for poor Robert though. He wanted a dog so bad... he ended up with two birds and a spider. Life can be such a let down sometimes.
