This one is probably the least well known of the three Gen13 prose novels. It's not as slick or well-polished, perhaps, as the other two by Jeff Mariotte and Scott Ciencin and Christopher Golden, but it's a good adventure and an excellent study of the characters. The team has always been notable for being the youngsters, and it's refreshing and amusing to see them in the role as the old establishment. Caitlin is particularly well drawn as a sympathetic and likable character in this one; she's too often seen as the stodgy leader with too much chest and too many brains and not enough common sense. I also liked the relationship of Lynch and Grunge. This is a fun adventure comic story with subtly touching undertones.

Fancy superhero smackdown action. Not too bad all things considered.

Not bad for what it is, until it got just a bit too stupid at the end.
