Out of the dictionaries(bug, endangered animals, etc), this one might be the best. It's 2003, so not a perfect book, but it still holds up well to present. The illustrations are gorgeous, some of the best I've seen, and the snake info is accurate.
Recommending this most out of the dictionary books, because it's still good.
We've read through this once and looked through it many, many times. Like the other Scholastic dictionaries it has a great illustration, a short paragraph and size comparison to humans for each snake.
Most of my current knowledge on snakes came from reading this book when I was younger. I liked the addition of the size comparison pictures and the marker saying whether the specimen was poisonous or not.
I dont like snakes but my boy does. He's only four so the book is to long for him. Great snake book will get again in kindergarten and first grade. So many facts great illustrations this is an awesome book on snakes
