Even though this is a novel about convent life,I think it is worth reading in conjunction with Monica Baldwin's more renowned memoir about her life after she left her convent.
Its dramatic title of "I Leap Over the Wall" says it all - for me. As a fellow-leaper I have no regrets. The Inner Sanctum of the Catholic Church is as human and tawdry as 'Peyton Place" and liberally sprinkled with the pepper and salt of humour, the fantastic, pitiable and the outrageous.
As I said NO REGRETS. Amazing experience and I kept my sanity
which many others didn't.So many nervous breakdowns and another suicide just last month.
Monica herself eventually committed suicide in her old age.
