Biography of Bob Pierce, a souled-out Christian who founded both World Vision and later Samaritan's Purse. Written by Franklin Graham with Jeannette Lockerbie who worked with him. No question Dr. Bob has a heart for the Lord with feet of clay. He was so obsessed with his mission, he failed in leadership and marriage. Sad that we Christians can't quite find the right balance.

"We never do anything well until we know for sure what our aim is."
"I must first meet their immediate needs, then I can meet their greatest need." (Lil Dickson)
"... God's love has to be driven home by a demonstration of love."
"The great tragedy of earth isn't that God is indifferent, it's that men are indifferent."

This is a book filled with testimonies about Bob Pierce, the founder of World Vision and Samaritan's Purse. His heart and background were displayed well. Readers will find his stories inspiring. I would have liked it to be better organized, however. Still worth the read if one likes to read about Christian living or missionary biographies.

this was a pretty good book, what really made it interesting was Bob’s life and how dedicated to his faith he was- writing style and structure wasn’t my favorite which is why i gave it a 2 (gotta keep the 4 stars significant)

This is the biography of Bob Pierce who was the founder of both World Vision and Samaritan's Purse. While the history of the book was most interesting and challenged my thoughts about missions, I found the writing style to be difficult to read as it jumped back and forth in time and from topic to topic. Bob Pierce truly dedicated his life at the expense of his family to the cause of missions and bettering the lives of others.

this book is inspiring as well as informational regarding world missions. The life of Bob Pierce is a challenge to all who want to give their all for Jesus. Bob Pierce loved the nations and loved people – reading this book cannot but challenge and inspire any reader.

This book changed the way I think of missions and missionaries. Anyone familiar with Samaritan's Purse or Operation Christmas Child should read it!
