This book describes Joe Pike’s miserable childhood with a very abusive father and his becoming a police officer and then a private investigator, working along Elvis Cole. His ex-lover, Karen Garcia, is murdered and her father asks Joe and Elvis to investigate. Elvis’ girlfriend Lucy Chenier has moved to LA and their relationship becomes strained when Joe is accused of murder. Elvis and Joe work to find out who is the real killer. Very good book.

I enjoyed reading this book about Elvis Cole, private investigator and his partner Joe Pike, ex-LAPD cop. A series of killings have occurred in LA and attributed to Pike. The story revolves around Cole and Pike trying to prove Pike’s innocence. I recommend this book for anyone who loves thrilling whodunit’s.
