Following the exodus of the Thirteenth Tribe and the dissolution of the Olympic Council as depicted in "Book One: Apotheosis," "Book Two: Descent" finds the gods scattered about Kobol. Apollo, though, is urged to confide in one man the true story of the Pantheon.
You now know what the Lords of Kobol are. Prepare to learn whence they came. How did they gain dominion over mankind? In "Book One," the words "Draco" and "Prometheus" are cursed whispers from the past. Who were the Draco? What did Prometheus do? And what of "The One?" Where does "it" fit into all of this?
See the gathering of the Twelve Tribes under Mount Olympus. Watch as the Great Flood nearly wipes out the gods' early followers. Behold the Lords of Kobol, hefting great weapons and arrayed in gleaming armor, take to the battlefield against their enemies. Gaze upon the seeds being sown for mankind's eventual departure from paradise ...
If "Book One: Apotheosis" was a slow-burn introduction to this world, the continuation of the story from "Battlestar Galactica" and "Caprica"'s distant past is an emotional and action-packed roller coaster ride. There is a Plan and questions will be answered.

I believe I liked this book better the first time I read it. Now, it just was not as exciting as the first one. But it does a magnificent job of telling how the Lords of Kobol came to be, what happened on the planet before the arrival of the Gods, and how the polytheists and monotheists live/war against one another. You get a lot more of the One, its plan, and its messengers/angels in this book. Now I believe the history will get into more interesting and exciting times with book 3, which leads me into anxious excitement about the next new trilogy to come out. http://ety3rd.com/26201.html
This one like the first one bothered me with the dating of the chapters. It made it hard for me to remember what was happening from the first book when it went back and forth to the scenes that directly related to this book and its timeline.
That is the worst thing I can say about it. I am getting used to his use of the first person view chapters. The story became totally engrossing. It was interesting to see how it was all tied up in one knot. I really enjoyed this one and am getting ready to start the third one. I am dying to learn more about Larsa and the history that happened prior to the current story.
