I would say that I am first a reader and then a writer. My fascination with books goes way back into the past when I didn't even know I could read something that wasn't given to me in school. Writing came later. First when I tried writing down the plots of the movies I found overwhelming and later in the form of a very dark blog that connected me with people I still consider very good friends.

When in reading I always reached for happy ending romances that helped me deal with the bad side of the world, while in my short stories characters died and their life usually reflected the reality that surrounded mine.

In time, vampires and shifters took the place of knights in shiny armors and I still searched for that happy ending . But with the years also came that wish for something edgier.
My current reading habits take me daily into the world of men, where kink is preferable and angst the realistic side of life in my dose of fiction. It was only natural that my fingers followed my thoughts and I came to a point where men only ogled men and women became side characters.

Somehow out of love for reading a writer was born. I won't say that the handsome men walking through my imagination have everything a reader might want. They are usually troubled, lost and insecure, but as they slowly stroll through my worlds, they eventually find their happy ending.

One of my favorite genres is fantasy just because with fantasy I get the simple pleasure of details. Details of world building, of new societies and descriptions of unique creatures.

One of the best things about this book, aside from the captivating plot, are the unique creatures. The descriptions of these creatures blew me away because I could envision what they look like. They aren't just simple humans, although Orrin is with the exception of his eyes, but they have different physiques that aren't just stated and then brushed under the rug. You're reminded in situations with little words that all three MCs are physically different and I loved that.

The book starts with a jolt. Right away Orrin and Fai are plunged into the slavery world, kidnapped from the only homes they've known and transported to another planet. Orrin, an Adult on the verge of being a Teacher from Earth, is tasked with taking Fai, a Mattian's, innocence. He won't do it so Hara, a Paatian and a slave for over a decade, is thrown into their cell. From that moment, Orrin knows Fai and Hara are his mates and will do anything to keep them safe and free them. It isn't long before Hara is separated from Fai and Orrin and shipped to his new master. Orrin finds out the true reason he was kidnapped and reluctantly agrees to perform tasks that could possibly make him insane so Fai can stay the innocent that he is. In the meantime, Hara starts to understand that his life no longer has to be the cold, bleak existence it’s been. It takes an unexpected opportunity from Hara and Orrin getting closer and closer to insanity for a chance at freedom to present itself.

Orrin, Fai and Hara are all completely different in more than just their form. Orrin is the rock that holds them together. He's strong and calm, he has a sense of peace which is how he's gotten so close to becoming a Teacher. Fai is just completely adorable. He looks young, naive and innocent. He's a cute little lion with a big gray mane and a touchy-feely tail who likes to cuddle and purr at the simplest of touches. Hara is jaded and cold from his years in slavery. He has a love of water especially with a physique that’s made for aqua. It's fascinating the contrasts between the three and how they all seem to fit together. Where one needs something, the other two are willing to give it in a heartbeat. The trials and separation they go through are heartbreaking but only serves to make their bond even more special.

As I've said, the world building is phenomenal and captivating. Any questions I had about one thing or another was answered by the end of the book. The descriptions about everything had me in awe and whenever a new character was introduced I'd just take a minute and reread what they looked like because I loved how they were written. It was easy to envision what each character looked like and unique enough that I couldn't get enough of reading about it.

While I loved all three MCs, one of my favorite characters was Roan, another Teacher . There was something about him that had me jonesing for more of him. In fact, probably his creepy red eyes and insanity attracted me the most. I want to know more of who he is, especially after his past had my heart clenching. I want to know what his future will hold but more than that I want to see him get an HEA. I want to see his mind deal with what it needs to and how, or if, he deals with his insanity. Another character that intrigued me was Kamari, Hara's new master. A gentle giant who just wants a mate that'll love him for him and not the position he holds.

The only fault I had with this book was the sex. While there aren't many scenes of it, (maybe three or four?), they were really long for my tastes. Granted, I'm not too thrilled of reading sex in general, I'm a little biased on that, so please don't take my word on it. But I will say that it was pretty hot sex ^_^

Overall, I really loved the book. Right from the start, I was hooked and while I faltered a tad during the sex, I didn't want to put the book down. The characters and world are both intriguing and the trials they go through are even more so. I'd also like to point out that Teacher Plus Two isn't really like Eyes of an Innocent. Sure, it is still sweet in some regard, and shares the same world, but it's darker than Eyes and deals with more issues that Eyes did. I'd definitely recommend both books to anyone looking for two good, unique fantasy reads.

I've read a story by Ms. Heart before and found it to be emotionally touching and filled with a depth I did not expect. I foolishly put off reading Teacher Plus Two for a bit. I should have known I would regret waiting so long. Orrin is a human Adult on the cusp of reaching Teacher status. This status is denoted in a physical manifestation with blue eyes turning violet. Our story begins with Orrin's kidnapping for the sole purpose to train sexual slaves. The force of sexual relations is anathema to Orrin's existence. We are treated to his fast decent into hell. The fact that he finds love during this journey helps emotionally balance him yet creates a vulnerability his sadistic abductors exploit. Teacher Plus Two is the second in this series. I did not read the first book, yet this second one is perfectly fine as a standalone. I loved it. Here is why I loved it.

First, I enjoy fantasy sci-fi type books. While the world building was still rather sketchy and not fully developed, we did learn enough about how this universe works. I found this universe rather unique and will stay in my mind long after I read this book. I would like to learn more about the governing bodies. I would also like to learn more about the different worlds in this universe as well as the different alien species.

Second, I loved the character building. Each character was flawed yet endearing. The mythology behind the TRI Teacher caught my attention and I enjoyed this Zen like Buddhist philosophy. Since a teacher designation is a well respected occupation within my cultural background, this story connected for me more deeply. It makes me ponder, what would I be if I were in this universe? Orrin is an idealistic man who is rudely awaken to the harsh realities of human cruelty. I found this moving and saddening. The two mates to Orrin were his missing pieces to complete him. Fai is the innocent while Hara is the jaded whore. The combination of the three creates a beautiful trinity. Even the evil guy, Roan wasn't fully evil. Roan is the perfect foil to Orrin yet he's the one who broke my heart. I cried over Roan's situation. This brings me to my next point.

Third, I loved how this story generated emotion for me. When I feel happiness, frustration, anger, pleasure and sadness in a book, it means the story speaks to me. If I feel moved enough to smile and shed a few tears, I am engaged in a story. I am whisked away into a make believe world where it feels so real to me. I love this feeling and when an author can take me to this place, the book just flat out does it for me.

Fourth, this story made me think and come up with "what-if" scenarios. I love books that make me think and analyze. In this case, my pondering surrounds the underlying messages I believe Ms. Heart was trying to state. For me, Orrin's struggle is the eternal battle of personal ethnics when in a job you cannot always control. When Orrin's emotional wellness is being torn apart, Fai's loving reassurance of the good he's providing to balance out the horrors perpetrated on the slaves is the soul-saving aspect. The most prevalent message I saw was, "what would you do to save the people you loved? To what degree would you compromise your personal beliefs and ideals to protect loved ones?" I particularly enjoyed how Ms. Heart demonstrated how two people of the same ilk behaved differently. The different paths Orrin and Roan chose are not the only options. I think for me, if I had been in Roan's torturous situation, I would behave a bit differently. My eyes I'm sure would have changed to the same colour. I too would morph into a violent being. From that point on, all similarities would cease. He apes his torturers in what I believe is to ensure others as innocent as he would feel the same suffering. Basically as he suffers, so shall others. In my instance, my credo would be, vengeance shall be mine. No abuser of innocents will go unpunished; I would become judge, jury and most especially executioner.

I hope Ms. Heart continues in this series. I would like to learn more of what happens to Roan and I'd like some closure to Karmari's heartbreak. I recommend this book to m/m lovers who enjoy alternate futuristic universes and aren't afraid of the evils that can be visited upon the innocent.

I'm not sure what possessed me to get this ARC from NetGalley. But I'm glad I did. I wasn't sure in the beginning, because I was under the mistaken impression that Orrin (a Teacher who is tasked with educating sexually inexperienced captives on a slave ship) was about to deflower a young boy, Fai. It was a relief to find out that Fai, while child-like in many ways, was an Adult. Whew! It's my own issue that makes me look at a diminutive cuddler as a kid, but Heart does a convincing job of convincing me otherwise.

Many other reviewers have so eloquently reviewed Teacher Plus Two, that I really don't have much more to add. I loved the world-building in this book and want to know more about its politics. I really want to know how slavery came about in this world and how the slavers are getting away with this crime. Certainly some of the worlds of the missing are searching for their kidnapped citizens? I'm sure greed has everything to do with it, but I want to know more about universe with such an extensive slave trade.

My greatest delight with Teacher Plus Two is the description of the different species in the story. Orrin is human, but his violet eyes tell us something more about how humans have evolved (well, the eyes, and their sexual habits). Hara reminds me of Patrick Duffy as the Man from Atlantis (yeah, dating myself , there) and the leonine Fai was too cuddly for words. And then there's Kamari who is black and white, but turns out in shades of gray to my mind, as I both sympathize with him and want to spurn him for commoditizing his love (obsession, really) for Hara. Oh, and the interspecies loving? Hot, hot, hot (and yeah, if tentacles are ever involved you have my rapt attention, hehehe).

Any misgivings I might have had in the beginning of Teacher Plus Two were quickly quelled. This book was much more complex than the first pages implied. I found myself riveted until the end, and I can't wait to find out what happens in the next In The Eyes

Teacher Plus Two is a Joyfully Recommended Read

Once a planet of war and misery, the people of Earth thankfully evolved into a peaceful society with various stages of enlightenment along the way. The young are classified as Innocents who grow into blue eyed Adults. Those that choose the final stage become purple eyed Teachers who are sexually superior, have greater understanding of the human psyche, and other character defining qualities. They also become immortal.

Nearing the final stage though not quite a Teacher, Orrin is minding his own business one evening when he is kidnapped. Waking aboard a transport ship in space is bad enough but when Orrin is told that he is expected to teach the other kidnapped beings how to be good sexual slaves he is horrified. It is a few days of beatings and torture that make Orrin reluctantly agree though he has every intention of escaping as soon as possible.

As the ship journeys towards its destination Orrin makes a lasting connection with first one slave and then another, each unique beings from far flung planets. Teaching slaves to accept nothing less than rape however is slowly tearing Orrin apart. The only thing keeping him from succumbing to madness are Fai and Hara. But love won’t keep Orrin going on much longer. Somehow they must all escape this nightmare.

Out of this world intense and passionate! Teacher Plus Two handles a variety of emotional entanglements with crushing realism and undeniable heart. There’s no question that Teacher Plus Two is a unique, challenging tale of love in its purest form. The characters aren’t stereotypical, especially the ‘bad’ guy, as well as another. I don’t want to give anything away, but suffice it to say Teacher Plus Two pulls every heart string, equally and hard. I Joyfully recommend Teacher Plus Two. It’s a totally original romance written somewhere in the stars.

Orrin, is a human that because of his sexual expertise he is close to reaching the revered status of Teacher. The one thing Orrin never expected was to be kidnapped and forced to teach other slaves how to pleasure those that will be their new masters. While he is a prisoner Orrin meets Fai and has to find a way to save his as Fai is in very bad shape. Just as he gets Fai purring again they have a new occupant to their cell, Hara. Hara has been a slave for a very long time so he knows how things are done but he never expected to find the other two or the bond that soon develops between the three of them.

Fai is a Mattain, which are like small lion that purr. Fai is thrown into a situation that is completely beyond anything he has known in his life. Fai is going to have to learn quickly if he has a chance to survive even with both Orrin and Hara there to take care of him.

Hara has been a slave for so long that he has begun to forget what his life was like before he became a slave. Things change though when he meets both Orrin and Fai but that might not be enough when he is sent clear across the universe to his new master. Now he is separated from the two people that mean the most to him and he wonders if they will ever have a chance to be together again.

Now the three men are going to have to find a way to survive so that they can be together again and have a future that isn’t dictated by others. Their bond is being tested and none are sure just how strong it is or if it can survive what they are all going through.

This is a good story and different from most. The world building is very interesting and comes to life for the reader as they read. The characters are well written and engaging and interesting. While this story may not be for some it is worth taking a chance to read.

So... I really liked the idea of the book. I love ménage and sci fi. The different species were interesting and it had the potential to be more than it was. It ended up being insta love with out much explanation, and despite being forced into slavery, it wasn't as dark as I expected or wanted. The violence is off page as well as Orrin's duties which leaves a lot of telling instead of showing. There were little inconsistencies in plot and the dialog was sometimes awkward.

It wasn't a bad book. If you take it lightly it was enjoyable. You just can't think too hard about certain things or it will start to not make sense.

Although it is second in a series, you don't need to read the first book and this stands completely alone.

This was an interesting book, I wasn't sure about it to begin with but once I got into it, I really couldn't put it down. In advance society, humans are basically divided into three categories, Innocents, Adults and Teachers. Orrin is approaching the teacher status when he is kidnapped and forced to educate a bunch of kidnapped aliens how to be sexual slaves.

Each of the three statues have a unique feature, the eyes of each status is a different color, so when Orrin meets that man who had him kidnapped he doesn't understand how his eyes could be a color they shouldn't be, as its not one of the three colors. Orrin, meets Fai and Hara while on the ship and will do anything to protect them and try to escape from capture.

This was a pretty quick read, with some angst in the middle and towards the end, even though its the 2nd book in the series, I didn't get lost having not read the first one. The terms were easily explained and I didn't feel like I wasn't being introduced to a character from the previous book, who wasn't explained.
