A great book for agents just starting out in the real estate field. It gives advice from before you even begin your career all the way to when you're ready to start delegating and building your business. I have several pages bookmarked in this book, as it's one I constantly refer to to refresh my memory and get good ideas. I would recommend this for any new agent looking to make the right decisions getting started.
They are not entrusting their largest asset, their home, to a new agent.
A listing is a contract with a seller to exclusively represent her in selling a home.
Aligning with a company that has a large inventory of homes for sale will dramatically help you create success early in your career.
Find out the company's market share, how many listings it takes in a year, how many listings sell, how many fail to sell, and how many sales it actually makes.
You will want to research the company at your local Board of Realtors. The local board may have market share and other statistics for the company you are interviewing.
real estate companies and agents use a multiple listing service to increase exposure.
The journal will often rank brokers in size and scope of services.
This book is a good general overview. I will have to say it's like more than a decade old so some of the stuff he talks about is way out of hand. It was a very light read. There were some good insights, but we need an updated version.
Overall I would recommend to anyone getting into real estate who wants a broad overview. If you want insights more applicable to today then I would listen to a podcast instead.
Classic Real Estate 101! Countless stories and top notch strategies for a new agent to successful pro. Recommend this book for all agents in their first year in the business. Truly a "must read." --Here's to your success! Karen Briscoe, author "Success in 5 Minutes a Day" and host of "5 Minute Success" podcast.
I'm not trying to be a real estate broker or agent , but man, this book had some great nuggets to bite on in general. It was inspiring and encouraging, towards the end speaks on sowing and reaping which strongly comes from the bible. Soil being good, thorny, etc.
It was a good read overall.
Disclaimer: i borrowed the ebook from the library and sharing an honest review.
Covering the landscape from prospecting to financial management, the book is a must read for any new agent. The details are light, but the advice is sound. You can start with this book then dive deeper on specific elements with other resources. A good read for every agent.
Great book, is easy to follow and understand. This book has great ideas for new agents. Highly recommend! Will be reading some of the other books the author suggests.
Parts of the book are extremely helpful, such as scripts to use with buyers and sellers, as well as the step-by-step plan for making money your first year. Other parts, however, are very repetitive and recycle the same information. Furthermore, the author frequently promotes himself and his business, which is off-putting. Overall, though, it's an enjoyable, worthwhile read.
I think this box gives great advice. I’d suggest anyone thinking about becoming an agent to read this first. If you are not willing to do what he says you may not want to go into real estate.
