Gunnar Eriksson, a two-hundred-year-old werewolf, knows there’s no place in his life for love because everyone close to him is doomed. And then he meets Stella O’Sullivan, the one destined to be his, and battles with his instinctive need to claim her.
Stella is instantly attracted to the ruggedly handsome Gunnar Eriksson, but soon discovers he is a man with secrets, a man filled with pain, a man plagued with inner demons. And as her attraction for him mounts, so does her compassion and warmth. She discovers he is grieving for his dead son.
As their passion and attraction heightens, a sinister plot unfolds. An evil so malevolent, her life is in danger. And Gunnar must race against time to save Stella.
Gunner and Stella. I guess this author isn't my cuppa. Gunner is an old werewolf grieving over the death of his son. He needs peace and quiet so he goes to Stella's B&B to get away. He knows right away that Stella is his 'One' but he treats her like cat puke anyways. Another case of "I can never love anyone and I would be a terrible mate" drama. I always wonder why it doesn't occur to the H that in refusing the connection, he is also dooming his 'One' to a life without love. Hmmmm... Selfish much? Anyways, he stays at the hotel anyways, cause it's OK to keep rubbing her face in it right? Convenient arch villains come along and force them together. There's some really lame action and posturing/monologuing by the villains. It was entertaining I guess. Overpriced for sure.
Pulled together by an unexplainable attraction. ( Cough, mates), Gunnar and Stella discover they fit together better than they could’ve imagined. All is not what it seems in the quiet town that houses Serenity. Danger lurks outside Stella’s door, and its bearer could break them as easily as he could bring them together to fight as one. I know it sounds good right?
The sex is well written, albeit tame. But I think the story more than makes up for it, and it suits the characters. I just can’t see Stella getting down and dirty in a way that would make you blush. This was a great read I recommend.
I liked this but it did seem a bit rushed at the end. Things happened way too fast for it to be a satisfying end. I honestly think there could be stories for her sisters. I dont know if any are planned but would be nice. I did like the story. Heart hurt for Gunnar...he was a good guy but experienced some major heartache losing his son. Or did he? Stella was sweet and kinda a perfect female character. She was written really down to earth and she reacted to her lycan half pretty standard...a total freak out...then mellowed a little. LOL. Sweet story.
