With a book called Mysterious I was hoping for a little more... something. Maybe a little more paranormal. Most of the book has stories taking placing during the 1800s and early 1900s and while the stories are rich in the history of Madison and the beginnings of the capital city the stories overall were just... okay. There weren't any that had me gripping the edge of my seat as I raced to find out what happened. In fact most of the stories I ended up skimming.

This book was 90% about UFO sightings in the late 1800s/early 1900s near Madison and included other non-Madison, but UFO related info. The transitions between stories were abrupt and, in general, I think I only found myself interested in one or two of the stories that then just sort of trailed off. I think the title and the book description could use an update so others aren’t picking the book up with completely different expectations than what they get (like I did).

Interesting list of u solved mysteries in Madison, Wisconsin with brief descriptions. Fast paced and seemingly well researched. I like Mister Voss, approach to this stuff.

I really wanted to like this book as I love history and unexplained events, but there was no true direction here. Each story led into the next with no real chronological or logical flow. If this book was organized in a methodical way, I would’ve enjoyed it a lot more.

I should have browsed this before I got it. Kind of dull stories about supposed ghosts. Might be interesting to someone who believes this stuff and lives in Madison.
