Silken Chains

Rate this book
Fleeing from her scheming guardian and the prospect of a dull arranged marriage to a much older man, Abbie - a blonde and beautiful, but sexually innocent young Victorian woman - is thrown from her horse. On regaining consciousness, she finds herself in a great house which has been lavishly modelled on the palaces of Indian princes - and the virtual prisoner of the attractive and extremely wealthy Leon Villiers - the Master. Eastern philosophy and eroticism form a basis of the master's opulent lifestyle, and he introduces Abbie to sensual pleasures far beyond the bounds of her imagination. She is, however, reluctant to submit completely to his will and, as her guardian's search for her continues, her liberty is further jeopardised. Can the situation ever be resolved?

I have a special place in my heart for this book. It is one of the first Black Lace books I read.

*Black Lace is a British publisher of erotic novels for women. They were publishing before erotica was "accepted" in the states as something other than pornography and was incredibly difficult to find in mass market retail stores. To obtain erotica for women, one had to special order from the UK.

This book is a tale of fantasy where while recovering from a riding accident, the hero of the story seduces the heroine by staging elaborate scenarios each evening: one night in his 'harem', one afternoon playing mistress of the house and stable boy etc. Entertaining and sensual, this book opened my eyes to a whole new world of role-play and showed me that sex could be an adventure and not the boring "vanilla" sex that is considered "normal". Thank the Gods I discovered this book when I did.
