“This 4-book set is a Dragonlance fan’s dream! It includes Dragons of Autumn Twilight, Dragons of Winter Night, Dragons of Spring Dawning, AND Dragons of Summer Flame! Dragonlance Chronicle 1-4! By Margaret Weis and Tracy Hisckman.

Dragonlances are magical weapons first created in the Third Dragon War, designed with the purpose of killing evil dragons, and are the only weapons with which mortals can kill dragons. Dragonlances have this power because of the way in which they are created, which requires the use of "two god-blessed artifacts". The weapons clearly draw upon Christian iconography, as the two mythical figures shown defeating dragons, Archangel Michael and Saint George, are often portrayed wielding lances to do so. Dragonlances are rare and not commonly traded. There are lesser dragonlances, which are made when only one of the artifacts is used to create them, and greater dragonlances, which are made when both artifacts are used to make them. Greater dragonlances are blessed with the power of Good, unlike lesser dragonlances.-- Dragonlance Wiki”

The Heroes of the Lance are the protagonists of the Chronicles trilogy, the first series of Dragonlance books. They were created by Weis and Hickman, then fleshed out as player characters in gaming sessions of Dungeons & Dragons at Hickman's apartment. That’s where Terry spoke...and the world of Krynn was forever changed. His rasping voice, his sarcasm and bitterness all masking an arrogance and power that never needed to be stated suddenly were real. Everyone in the room was both transfixed and terrified. To this day Margaret [Weis] swears that Terry wore the black robes to the party that night." Dragonlance Wiki

This set was the best gift I ever received as a kid, and re-reading these brought back great memories. I didn't enjoy them as much now as I did then but still a fun read, especially for D and D fans.

These books set me on a reading trajectory that has yet to peak...I read this in sixth grade. I'd read other books before these, but the suspense and magic of these books sparked a need for reading. Before these books I hadn't realized how much I loved spending time in imagined words and I hadn't known the delight of racing through the pages of a book, practically panting, as I rushed to the finish.

I read this series as a teenager back in the 90s. I loved the story, the characters, and all that went with it.

I've read these years ago. Like in my teens. These were the novels that got me into fantasy and AD&D lol. The characters were amazing, the world of Krynn was brilliant, the mythology was perfect, I just loved every single on of these novels. I have reread them time and time again. Will probably reread them againthis year.

The twins Raistlin Majere/Caramon Majere, Crysania, and Tasslehoff Burrfoot always kept me wanting to read more. A neighbor had loaned me the series when I was a teen and I couldn't get enough.
