Update - The show was fantastic- best I've seen in London!

I’m off to London today to see this on stage. I am so, very, very excited.

description

As much as I love the Disney film version, nothing quite compares to live theatre. And although this little book here is a faithful rendition, it could never capture the majesty of the story on page. Without music this falls terribly flat.

Today is going to be fun.

eh, I know that all children and adults likes this book, but from me only 3 stars. Why? Because this book isnt that great, how I thought it is. I read this many times and didnt liked it too much, like all other Readers. Just this story isnt my type, but I like a few moments in the book. And I cried for a moment, while reading this. When his father died. If You want to read this for first time, just do it. Maybe You will like it more :) I read this a few times becuase it was so popular in my childhood, and my cousins wanted to read and watch only this. I wanted to keep contact with them, so forced myself to this book

Walt Disney's classic story of the The Lion King is set on the continent of Africa.
Prince Simba, son of King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi, is set to be the future Lion King of Pride Rock. However Simba has been stopped in his tracks when his evil uncle, Scar, sets up traps to kill Simba so that he can be crowned King of Pride Lands.

The Lion King is a great cultural book that can be enjoyed by from all ages. It shares the a particular good balance between fact and fiction. This easy read book focuses mainly on its fantastic illustrations and it these colourful visuals which appealed to me the most. The images are very clear and really speak on their own.

As well as being a great read, children are also able to get alot out of this book, educationally.
Below are some sideas that the book can be linked to the following subjects.

A beautifully illustrated book about a lion cub growing up wanting to know more about the world beyond his reach, but soon finds that his curiosity leads him into trouble. Unknown to him his uncle is trying to overthrow the King (the cub's father), blamed for his father's death the cub runs away and finds himself with new friends who he grows up with. Fate leads him back to his Pride when bumping into his childhood friend. He takes back what was once his to be and takes over the land as the new Lion King.

It is a story that can be read to children from year 1 to year 3. Children can learn from their mistakes if they make any, that it is never late to correct what has gone wrong.

A patrimonial succession struggle among a pack of lions causes the animal denizens of the Pride Lands to suffer immensely. Down with the monarchy! More importantly, enough death and destruction to keep the children entertained.

This is a story about a young lion cub named Simba. It starts when Simba is born and all the animals come to Pride Rock to see the new prince. After this the book goes into the future when Simba is a bit older. One night Simba’s dad the lion king known as Mufasa takes him to a spot and sits Simba down and tells him that wherever the light touches will be his kingdom some day. Then Simba asks his dad about the dark place and Mufasa told him that he should never go there. So after that Simba goes by his uncle Scar and tells him that one day he is going to be the king of everything but the dark place but then Scar tells Simba what the dark place is and it strikes Simba’s interest. Then Simba goes to the dark place with his friend where they almost get killed by hyenas but then Mufasa saves them. Soon after Scar ends up watching Simba for the day and takes him to a gorge and tells Simba to wait on a rock because his dad was going to come with a surprise. Scar then signals the hyenas to chase wildebeest down by Simba to try and kill him but then Mufasa shows up and saves Simba but he dies saving his son. After this Scar tells Simba it was his fault for his dad dying. So Simba runs away until he realizes in the end what's happening.

In this story the main character is Simba. He is a young lion cub that gets into trouble but he is destine to become the lion king. Another character in this book is Mufasa. Mufasa is Simbas dad and the current lion king. As the story progresses Mufasa tries to teach Simba more about being a king when our next character kills Mufasa. This character is Scar the uncle to Simba and the brother of Mufasa. Scar in this story wants to be king but can not be because of Simba and Mufasa. So throughout the story he tries to kill both of them.

In this story the setting is called Pride Lands. This doesn't specify the time but it is through many years. The Pride Lands is a place where the lions are king and they try to keep everything in check. Another place in the book is called the Shadow Land. This is a place where Simba in not supposed to go but does anyway. This is where the hyenas live and where Simba and his friend almost get killed if it wasn't for Mufasa. The reason Simba went there was because there is also an elephant graveyard.

The main theme in this story is that you shouldn't run from your problems because it only makes it worse. This happens to Simba when he runs away after his father’s death and then later finds out his uncle Scar has destroyed Pride Rock. Another theme in this book is that you should always listen to adults. If Simba would have done this he wouldn't have almost been killed. The last theme is responsibility. Simba has to be more responsible for his actions in this story to become a better king in the end.

This story is a classic that is great story for young children regardless of the gender. This story has some good themes that are good to start trying to teach young children early. This is a great bedtime story to read to children and it will end up keeping their attention with great exciting storytelling and great pictures they are sure to enjoy.

The Lion King, by Justine Fontes and Don Williams, is the classic story of Simba, Mufasa, Scar, Timon and Pumba. Set in the african desert, this is the life of the lions on the pride and who has dominance. There is evil hyenas and Mufasa's brother who is a evil lion who wants to take over the land. I read these books in a series called The Golden Books, which are short and picture book versions of the movie that was released in 1999.

I love the way this book is written because it has humor but it also has a serious tone when needed. It is a book that gets you emotionally attached and makes you feel for the Simba when his dad died. There are not many stories that get as heart wrenching as this author does with her stories. I really am attached to the authors style and will continue reading her books as my reviews.

This book is just fine. The type of book my son loves, because he loves the movie and familiarity is key. I only give it 3 stars, because, well, it's a tie-in book. Nothing original. The pictures are bright the text is nothing special but better than some Little Golden Book tie-ins I've had to endure. The story is all there, but the scary parts are naturally rather mild.

The narrative follows a young cub named Simba and his quest to assume his father's role as the ruler of the Pride Lands. Simba's envious uncle, Scar, covets the kingdom for himself and concocts a scheme to eliminate Simba's father, King Mufasa, before Simba matures enough to claim his rightful position. The central theme of The Lion King revolves around purpose, responsibility, and confronting one's past to embrace destiny, focusing on Simba's transformation from an innocent cub to the rightful king. He learns that authentic leadership involves serving others within the "Circle of Life" instead of evading mistakes. The story underscores that although our past influences us, we must transcend guilt and fear to achieve fulfillment, acknowledging our interconnectedness with all living beings and embracing our place in the world.

This is a great adaption of the classic Disney film, The Lion King. The author/adaptor of this book made the story in the film simpler and easier for children to understand. It is a fairly short book version of the movie. It leaves out much of the story and only focuses on the main details of the film. I enjoyed how the author explained some of the details (i.e., the circle of life) so the children reading this book can understand what they are. However, the illustrations are the exact same from the movie. I think it would be better if the illustrator did their own illustrations that didn't resemble the movie. I recommend this book to children in grades 1st-3rd. Also, this book would be great for children that love disney movies and especially love The Lion King.

Finally, the lion king! One of my favourite Disney story. This story made me cry when I was a child, i watched the movie but it's just not as good as the book I guess.

The relationship between Simba and Mufasa is incredible. Simba was lost but with the guidance of his father, Simba rose from adversity, he ended injustice and brought prosperity and happiness to his people. The wise, fair, and educated always win over the arrogant, unjust, greedy, and evil. And yes, no matter how great a leader is, he always needs at least someone by his side.

The Lion King is a simple, yet beautiful story that has not only captured my complete attention and kept me on my toes but also filled me with nostalgia, as it dominated my early years of childhood. The writing, while not overly simple, occasionally challenged me with certain words that required extra effort to understand. However, it was overall lucid and flowed well, making the story enjoyable and easy to follow despite these moments.
